I love the chrome browser so far...pretty nice and plain.

But when I bought my emachines computer...well the two of them we have here...they were absolutely riddled with the most intrusive, annoying and browser crippling google crap Ive ever seen.
I spent a week trying to track it all down to delete and/or disable it.

So now that google has ruined so many other browsers with this Google Toolbar trash, they come up with this wonderful little browser thats going to leave the others in the dust and be so much more than they could ever be.

Uh...hey Google...the other browsers actually werent too bad until you started inserting your garbage tools into them ;)

That all said Chrome is pretty interesting.

Ha, that's funny. I never thought about that. I wonder if there is a Toolbar extension for Chrome if you miss a bloated browsing experience.

I rarely use Chrome, but need to use it the other day when a page wasn't working properly on Firefox.

Have you tried Opera? I dumped Google Chrome after too many bugs.

Opera is just as fast or faster than chrome. Fastest I've used so far. :D

http://www.opera.com/
yeah, we use em all here :D
I like and dislike something with each of them.
The password manager drives me nuts with FF...not to mention the form fill wants to fill in things with complete irrelevance that I have to delete when Im doing stuff.
Opera doesnt have some bookmark features I like with FF and use frequently.
IE doesnt want to render some things as well as FF and Opera do...
Chrome I like so far, but its too stripped, in my opinion, as far as the options and set up go.

Always on the lookout for the perfect browser...but Im guessing Id have to pay someone to build exactly what I want :D

Yeah...the neverending search for the perfect browser:

IE: too slow, too many bugs, doesn't render code properly (hence IE hacks), not many add-ons or customisation

FF: takes a while to start up (but afte that is really quick), the password manager annoys me too

Chorme - not much "stuff" and "stuffing" to it...too "thin" for my liking

Opera - haven't tired it

Safari - not many features, and it's Apple (but I admit to using it every now and then)

BTW, I love all the "google crap" - downloading useless crap like that is sooooo fun! :lol

btw FoC I've moved this thread to Tech Talk.

I used IE until I found Opera
I used Opera until I found FF
I used FF until I found Chrome

I now use Chrome with iGoogle as my home page pretty much exclusively, I only use FF when I find a page that won't play well with Chrome...

Exactly, that's why I begrudgingly went back to Firefox. Of course, the reason I originally ditched FF was because of frequent crashes, which it seems they've fixed in recent updates. Thankfully.

ugh..
and now I find that Google Chrome has a tracker that pretty much keeps record of every move the browser makes on the web.
Supposedly no personal information relayed, but that isnt the point. Google is so intrusive its remarkable that they arent facing the same issues that Microsoft did for years.

Its not even the point that they know where youve been on the web....its more just the idea that theyre tracking you to begin with.

Have you tried using Chrome in incognito mode? Also, where did you find out about this tracker? I'm a bit curious since I'd think the basis of the creation chrome was for speed. I'd think google wouldn't want to put on anything that would slow the browser down.

I pretty much threw away firefox for chrome, and IE for firefox before that. Only reason I'd keep firefox would be for the plug-ins and "prettyness". Chrome still beats Firefox in startup speed and surfing it feels like. Also, depending on your surfing habits, if you visiit lot of javascripted pages, no browser even comes close to chrome. Then again the world will change with HTML5. Must wait and see... :nod

I don't think follower of Christ is active here anymore...

I like Chrome except for the fact that you can't right-click an image and select "Set as Wallpaper."
