Have you ever googled your first and last name. It is interesting to see how many people have your name.

I googled mine and I found that there are 34 people in the United States with my first and last name.

I found several people with my first and last name, too, although not as many since it's a rarer name. And nobody has my middle initial.

I did google my whole name to see what I could find, as I understand future employers sometimes do that (as if their hypocritical gen-x lives were squeaky clean and can't stand us older boomers or younger gen-y people). The only thing I could find other than my phone number (from white page directories) were comments almost 30 years ago in the editorial section of my local newspaper, and also an online petition I signed protesting flight 93 memorial due to the Islamic symbolism in it. However, my comments there were limited to spherical trigonometry and my confirmation that the memorial pointed a certain direction, so it actually sounded technical. I guess in my field that would be good actually.

One other thought. This is why it's good to have handles in forums. It keeps one's name away from certain ideological associations. Future employers have NO BUSINESS to know that, anyway.
