Hi,

To introduce myself...

I am new here but 46 years in the faith (the Lord claimed me when I was 6) so that means... zubba zubba zubba... I'm 52 {SMILE}.

Happily married to the most saintly of saints for 32 + years... struggling through the recent economic woes as many not as difficult as most... and trying to catch up on some lost years that I allowed the locusts into my life diminishing my personal ministry for lots of reasons none of them good.

Proverbs 24:16 ()
16 For a righteous man falls seven times, and {{I would say but}} rises again, But the wicked stumble in time of calamity.

1 John 2:1-6 (NASB95)
1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;
2 and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.
3 By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.
4 The one who says, “I have come to know Him,†and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;
5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him:
6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.

The Spirit is pressing upon me the need for the Church to unite as one (which Jesus in his high priestly prayer in John 17 prayed that we in the Church be like the Father and he are one). What divides the Church is the traditions of man and not allowing the Holy Spirit to interpret the Bible:

2 Peter 1:20-21 (NASB95)
20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation,
21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

John 16:13 (NASB95)
13 “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

I recently returned to my online witnessing blogging and apologetics defense of the faith (which I used to do online, at work on school campuses and outside cult conventions and events). I admit I did get burned out but that was only reason to rest and get back into the fray... rather than taking the worldly paths I took about a decade ago...

I am back in ministry four years now. (BTW we all have ministries as believers in Christ... no such thing as laity in the kingdom of priests).

Revelation 1:6 (NASB95)
6 and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father—to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 5:10 (NASB95)
10 “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.â€

1 Peter 2:3-11 (NASB95)
3 if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.
4 And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God,
5 you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6 For this is contained in Scripture: “Behold, I lay in Zion a choice stone, a precious corner stone, And he who believes in Him will not be disappointed.â€
7 This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve, “The stone which the builders rejected, This became the very corner stone,â€
8 and, “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offenseâ€; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed.
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
10 for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
11 Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul.

I have a general rule of thumb discerning truth and interpreting scripture...

2 Peter 1:20-21
1 Thessalonians 5:21

1 John 4:1
Acts 17:11
2 Timothy 3:16-17
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV says it best IMHO)
John 16:13

God bless!

Dear Brother JohnD, it's so good to hear of young married people like you going with the Lord. With such commitment life will grow sweeter, love deeper, and rewards unfathomable; these are the riches in Christ regardless of circumstance. It's so good to have you here in fellowship, and I hope you are blessed abundantly.

Blessings in Christ Jesus. :wave
