I just read a great book; Can We Trust the Gospels? by Mark D. Roberts. In it, Roberts gives a very clear and reasonable case for the authenticity of the gospels. It is accessible (you won't find overly-academic or convoluted arguments) but it's still provocative and academically informed. Robert's does have a Ph.D. from Harvard. The book is a very good counter to things like the Da Vinci Code and Bart Ehrman's Misquoting Jesus. Personally, as a Christian, it helped me see the beauty and dependability of the gospels. This is definitely a book worth reading. I'm pretty sure I will be giving this one away to anyone anyone I come across who is seeking or doubting.
