GREAT CONTROVERSY Between Christ and Satan

The Law of God is the central issue....in the fierce debate between Christ and satan.....in which men/women are the principle actors, in this drama.

From Genesis to Revelation, has been God's efforts, to bring mankind back into the Great Law of Love and Liberty.....the 10 commandments (Exodus 20:3-17).

Upon transgression of God's Law by Adam & Eve, the Tree of Life was forbidden to the sinner (Genesis 3:22-24)....because they broke God's commandments......
3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

In Revelation.....the Tree of Life is given access to by those who keep the commandments of God.....
22:14 Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

AND....from Genesis to Revelation is revealed God's efforts to try and bring mankind bak into harmony with HIS Law of LOVE.

Eccl. 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man.

How many people, in the Christian world, believe that statement God made ?

How many people, can find the very same idea, expressed in the New Testament ?

IF....you can't find it, you'd better look at what Jesus Christ, HIMSELF SAID....AGAIN

Jesus Christ is the only answer, to keeping the 10 commandments....as Scripture says.......

Romans 10:4 For Christ [is] the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Great controversary

Jay T, the ten commandments weren't given until God gave them to Moses and Moses gave them to the Israelites as recorded in Exodus, not Genesis.

Before the law, all sinned but sin was not put to their account. But when the law came, how many of the children of Israel could keep them? That is did actually "Fear God and keep His commandments"? NONE...NULLO...NOT ONE! It should have shown them they needed the mercy of God, but it didn't. But even when Jesus, the Saviour came, they (Israel nationally) refused him.

The prophet David was inspired to write: "The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God.' They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one." Psalm 14:1-3, NIV.

Thank God it is through his mercy and grace we are saved; and his grace and mercy keeps us saved.

JayT,

You 'leave out' MUCH of the NT writings that PLAINLY offer that the Law was a 'TEACHER'. That 'for a time' that was the BEST that could be offered to mankind. AFTER Christ's death, DEATH was defeated and The Spirit LEFT BEHIND in order to 'bring mankind' into the LOVE of God. For LOVE is the REASON that the commandments were offered to 'begin with'. That those that were given the commandments were 'unable' to UNDERSTAND this takes NOTHING away from the TRUTH.

While I WHOLLY admit that one that follows the 'truth through love' WILL abide IN The Commandments, we are NO LONGER BOUND TO THEM as were the Hebrews. And the ONLY reason that they were 'bound to them' was to TEACH them to LOVE God and LOVE their neighbors.

Christ PLAINLY 'summed it up' in that THE FIRST and MOST IMPORTANT commandment is; Love God with all thy heart, mind and soul. SECOND, MUCH LIKE THE FIRST; Love thy neighbor AS thyself. And He further emphasized the TRUTH of these TWO by offering that; ALL the LAW and ALL the PROPHETS HANG on THESE TWO.

Now, where are the REST of the 'Ten Commandments' OFFERED by Christ? And the ONLY way that it is even possible to defend 'your' belief that the Commandments of God ARE the Commandments of Christ is to 'believe' that Christ IS God. If Christ IS The Son of God as offered, then we KNOW that the Commandments of Christ are NOT the 'same' as the Commandments of God.

And, WATCH THIS: 1 Corinthians 3:21-23

21Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's;

22Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's;

23And ye are Christ's; and Christ IS God's.

So, you will ONLY find references offered BY Christ to God's LAW and to the Commandments of Christ. NO reference to the LAW of God BEING the Commandments of Christ.

So Jay, while much of what you 'say' sounds 'good' the truth is a 'bit deeper' than 'simply abiding by The Law'. For the Law was NOTHING more than a 'teacher' that was FULFILLED in Jesus Christ. NOW the Spirit is what convicts those that LIVE for God through His Son.
