Hi,
I'm Elizabeth and I accepted Christ in August 2004 at the grand old age of 37. I was raised as a Catholic beginning around age 8 and wanting to serve the Lord seriously considered becoming a nun. College, that den of sin, introduced me to other "religions". I dabbled in wicca, christian science, unitarianism and began ministerial training with the Unity Church. God is His perfect timing brought me to my knees and with the help/prayers/fellowship of other Christians I came know Christ. I am presently a member of an Assembly of God church and am having a great time serving the Lord. If I could just keep the women of the church from trying to set my up with the single men of the church.... :gah

Welcome to Christian Forums Liz. If the ladies here give you any issues let me know. ;)

By the way, Vic and I are both New Jersey Natives as well.

Hi Liz~

Well, well, well, another New Jersean. :) Welcome! :wave It is good to hear your report of the
Lord' great faithfulness! The scripture that says He knew you before He founded the earth is clearly revealed in your testimony. :D

It seems the enemy has fought with many temptations to spoil your opportunities to serve Jesus.
Still, there is glory in all your trials... for the enemy only stands against those who belong to the Lord, because they alone may make Jesus known to this dark world! :thumb

May our Heavenly Father place the sword in your hand that was meant to destroy your life... and like King David, may you destroy the evil lies in the lives of others on that same path. :clap2

I sometimes come across (well meaning) match-makers in my church too. I have found the best thing to do is to pray for them. No harm done, as long as you are secure in waiting for the Lord's desired husband. If it troubles you~ take the woman aside and let her know your weakness. Jesus will teach her to shepherd your willingness to wait on Him. :yes

May Jesus bless your extended fellowship here at CFnet. In His love, bonnie
