Greetings

Greetings brothers and sisters, I am new to the forum, first post !
My question is how does the Lord speak to us and how can we hear the lords voice?

I do ask myself many questions and I hear many different answers from different people,Lets take "yom sabat" for example, My Dad always told me that Sabat is day for rest , but it does not apply to this time , the New Testament, but when we moved and my dad passed away , we moved in to a small town with a church that believes otherwise , and rather put pressure on me , trying to change my mind.
I am still very young compared to the people who go to the church and find my knowledge tested by other members who often ask me questions , trying to catch me out (that is how I feel, although they might not realize how much pressure they put on me), My question is , is there such thing as right or wrong in these circumstances or is it simply a matter of a person's point of view?

Hi Matthew, and welcome to the forum...

When it comes to which day is a proper day of rest for the Christian, I think it's best to simply read what Paul had to say when this very issue was a struggle for some in the early church. The Jews always held to the Sabbath, but as more and more gentiles joined the church it became an issue.

Paul said in Colossians 2:16-17 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

I think your best course of action here is to study God's word...immerse yourself in it and study it so that you can have an answer for when folks try to pressure you.

:) Hopefully, you can find some help around here as well. There are a lot of folks who are knowledgeable regarding the Scriptures. And, although there are different view points on which day a Christian should rest, you can hopefully gain understanding by listening and coming to your own conclusions.
