Are-you-I-know-I-am_zpskygl24iu.jpg

Aren't you? I know I am. Our children are ages 20, 18, and 15. They've never known it. This pic captures almost precisely a picture of my youth. I was one of those kids on a bike in about 1976. No Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook, or phones to text 24/7.

When we left school, the peer pressure and bullying stopped. We didn't have to worry about what our peers were saying about us on line, because the gossip and whispering ended when we left school.

I am SO thankful that I grew up in a day where I only needed to know my bike was near, and I knew where my baseball bat and glove were. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to spend my days and nights disconnected from anyone I wasn't with at that moment.

Things were a lot different though when and where I grew up.

Today's kids have similar but different challenges. It's partly the world we left them and partly the world they created.

Some of the things we marvel at they take as common. How things work with us is important...but only that they do seems to be kids important factor.

And school?
The single most important thing I learned is how to get along with those that I don't like or have anything in common with.

We were forced together in no particular order or reason other than age and made to work together towards common goals.

We were the last generation to know what honor is. Technology is the deception. Everything that they push out there on us...we had the capacity to do spiritually already.

They hid the teachings from us, developed it technologically, now charge us for it.

We have the ability to talk ,communicate wirelessly without technology?

Telepathic communication happened long before technology. Now scientists have used technology to confirm mind-to-mind communication.

So all thus time ,all those years I did read minds?

I do know what he implied.I was heavily into that.yet what saith the bible?

We sure do, Brother. Me and my wife could do it some...(early on when the love was deep!)...the Holy Spirit did it once, spoke to me (audibly, but in my mind) and told me to pray for a Brother that needed help.

Idk if you was. What I do know (from being married), is that...it seemed to (me), that it was possible because of the love bond. It went away after the love bond did.

It makes perfect sense to me to have it with a love bond. It's not that, 'I could do this', but rather, we did it. I've never been able to do it with other people and yes I tried. That's why I think it was love bond.

So you know the thoughts of your wife daily?

I don't need to be married to be that way.my wife isn't open nor gifted to do that which I speak of.links are another topic.

You sure you weren't talking about physic?

Well, this went all over the place, and naturally it went to mental telepathy. Please... Proof of mental telepathy? Just, don't.

Part of the allure of our childhood is just because it was a simpler time due to our age. No responsibility. I'm sure my kids will one day look back and say life was simpler that it will be for them then.

But that pic in my OP really captures what a typical summer evening felt like for me. The only screen device I had besides our family TV was my Matel Electronic Football game with red dots blinking across the screen. We rode our bikes, had massive games of tag, and played baseball by day. Oh, and I had my boom box "portable" stereo the size of a suitcase that used up 30 size-D batteries in an hour. Good times... :)

Yes, and our black and white tv went off the air at midnight...
We had 4 or 5 channels, and there was always something on worth watching....for free
Now, watch the same shows with a heavy price, lol.
We were always outside!

Ño I don't know the thoughts of my wife, and I can't go around reading peoples thoughts and mind. It's something we used to be able to do when we were married.

It's not being psychic. More like telepathy but not like I could do it with anybody, it was just her and me.

My husband and I don't need to talk, we can read each other's faces, lol.
I kinda know what you mean, you know the person so well, you would know what she or he would think about something.

If the power went off the town kids would find each other and play hide and seek... One could leave their bicycle out side and it was not stolen.. It was only the PK who broke all the windows in the vacant house.. Neve broke another on purpose... We could charge 1 ice cream bar... we knew Art would call mom if we tried for 2..

When I was young, the ice cream truck put in a daily appearance in my neighborhood. One heard the distinctive music playing from blocks away.

Girl Scouts went door to door to take orders for (and later, deliver) Girl Scout Cookies.

There were 18 of us in my class at school. Most of the parents attended PTA meetings. If someone got into trouble at school, he/she would be in trouble at home.

My offspring who is a teacher has an average classroom size of 32 students. Most of the parents/grandparents/guardians do NOT attend PTA meetings in her building. The majority of kids who get into trouble at school know that the school officials can't do anything about the bad behavior; they also know that nothing will happen at home as a result of the trouble caused.
