Guitar

Anyone else play guitar out there? What songs do you play? How long have you been playing? Ever been in a band?

I've been playing guitar on and off since I was thirteen. It got tough at times so I would set it aside and try later. But... I decided that since it is my dream to master guitar, I am going to finally making it happen. I've been playing consecutively and learning new chords and worshiping God... It's awesome singing to God! It's like biting into a juicy peach! :)

I have a acoustic guitar and a Charvel Jackson Charvette guitar with humbucking pickups and a reverse headstock. I have the exact same guitar as the one in this video, with the same sound. This guitar can create some serious pandemonium as you can hear in this video.
Now the one he plays in this video does not have the reverse headstock, his tuning keys are on top mine are on the bottom. My headstock is the same as the one in the picture below, they came plain or reverse and mine is also black like the picture and many came with a Floyd Rose tremolo arm system. But to sum it up' this guitar can scream.

I'm a very beginner. I dream of being a musician though, at least good enough to entertain friends. But I struggle with the basics of playing guitar, can't afford taking lessons. Barre chords are impossible, my fingers are way too weak. :sad

I played in high school in a guitar club and even joined the school jazz band and picked up bass. I used to be really into heavy metal and Classic rock. Still into a lot of classic rock, but by picking up the Bass and joining Jazz band I was exposed to differnt ways of playing the guitar. I also grew up around blue grass and country because my grandfather was a big fan and shared it with me. He helped me get an acoustic when I turned 13 so I could finally learn. I didn't do much outside of high school with it. Life, work, and college took over. I discovered my real passion is just being creative so I picked up sketching and such. Now that life is starting to settle down I find myself missing playing.

For what Instruments I own.

7 String Ibanez AX7221

Ibanez RG 250 DX

and a Taka 12 string ( don't have the octave strings on it though) Acoustic.

Squire 5 string P bass ( Set up with jazz bass pickups but wired like a P bass)

I still pick them up and mess around with them when I'm in the mood but my technique and song library have dwindled. :p

I play some, but it's up for debate how good I am ;)

In high school, my friend and I started a garage band, but it never grew beyond the two of us (he played drums). We did try to play with another guitarist once, but it just didn't work out.

Most of my library is AC/DC songs, but there's a decent smattering of country, a few gospel songs, and a couple miscellaneous rock songs, too.

Ah! So now the butterflies are set loose.
This is our little duo which plays in church now and again during the quiet moments as well at other gigs if needed.
I am very proud to anounce that one of our tunes "Springbokpad" made No2 in the Soundclick World Rankings in the Latin category and our latest gospel contribution reached 18 out of 66000 entries in the traditional country category.Yours trully on croaking and nylon with my other partner who is the chief elder(Lourens De Jager ) in church on bass.
