Thanks Alabaster and Texas for shedding light on that. With that said, here is a little reminder of the board's ToS:

3 - No active promotion of other Faiths is allowed:

You will not post any messages; links, images or photos that promote a religion or belief other than Biblical and historical Christianity (atheism is considered a "belief" for the purposes of this rule). Discussing these doctrines are fine, as long as the beliefs are not actively promoted. This includes Universal Reconciliation, Universal Salvation, Serpent seed, Dual Seed or Two-Seedline doctrine which are only allowed in the 1 on 1 Debate Forum. This is a Christian Forum as the name suggests.

Only scripture from accepted Christian bibles will be allowed to be posted on this board. The New World Translation is not considered Christian material on this site. Discussion about other scripture, documents, writings or material is acceptable but will not be permitted to be used as a basis of support within a debate or discussion.

The Lake of Fire exists but no people are there, for judgment has not occurred yet. What we refer to as hell is really the grave or Sheol, where the dead outside of Christ go to await judgment.

I am still wondering how "spirit beings" are affected by a literal fire. :chin

Spirit beings? Everyone is resurrected in the flesh, albeit glorified flesh, in order to stand before the holy God.

Blazing brimstone will be the prevalent element of the Laske of Fire. I don't believe (through certain people's visions) that those who find themselves there will be perpetually burning, but will always be near the burning, suffering from the heat, and burns that never consume, among other terrible things.

Man was not meant for that place. It was created for Satan and his pals, who are spiritual beings. They will also suffer, but I don't care how.

J. Preston Eby is a Universalism preacher. Everybody keep this in mind when you read his "theology".

Yes, but is he correct in what he wrote? Is Campbell correct about the English word "eternal" (1st quote), a man who did believe in eternal punishment? Bubba

I have. It is what Universalism pushes.

Of course no purification took place at Gehenna, did it? That was the perpetual burning dump outside Jerusalem. It is a parallel situation with hellfire, which is not for purification, but for the containment of evil, and the permanent (eternal) separation of evil from all that is holy.

What took place in Gehenna in respect to the Jews was judgment. The fires did go out and the worms did cease to live. Jesus (especially in Matthews gospel), warned the religious leaders over and over again that imminent judgment was approaching. When asked when the Temple would be destroyed, He said this very generation would have those who would live to see the destruction.

Instead of posting this, would not addressing the quotes if they are true or not be more advantageous? Or have you come to the point where there is no possibility, that you may be wrong about your views on Hell or anything else? Bubba

UR is permitted in the 1 on 1 debate forum.

If anyone is interested in discussing this issue, please take the discussion there.

Thank you.
