As an Executive Chef, I am always looking for quality meat at the best prices.
The economy of food is absolutely ridiculous on the price of food, even in bulk, at restaurant pricing.
We buy meat and poultry in bulk from a well known restaurant distributor.
We have a teenager and a couple others in their 20's that do not live at home and I also prepare items for them from time to time.
God has given me the gift of serving and I like to make soups and other items to give to other family members.
I use a commercial vaccum sealer to get things done to stay fresh.
Long story short, I have been eyeballing Halal Beef and poultry that is a few dollars a pound cheaper than Choice or Angus (which is a scam) beef.
The text that came to mind is 1 Cotinthinas 8:4.
1 Corinthians 8:4 Therefore, concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no God but one.
In context this is about a conscience thing with mature and youger believers in the setting of Biblical times.
For me, to purchase Halal products is not an issue, because I understand this verse, and it does not condemn my conscience.
I posted this thread to get some feedback from other believers why they would or would not purchase these products.
Grace and peace to you.

The word halal means “permissible” in Arabic. It refers to food, objects, or actions that are allowed in Islam. Among other things, halal meat must be killed with a sharp knife and drained of blood. No carnivorous animals, birds of prey, or meat contaminated with non-permissible substances can be used. This, in and of itself, is a healthy way of preparing meat. The problem comes when Allah’s name is pronounced over the meat during the butchering process. Many interpret this to mean the animal was sacrificed to a false god—an idol.
Grace and peace to you.
