Hank Hanagraph calls Christian Zionists "Cultic"

I don't know if any of you are familiar with Hank Hanagraph. He's a national host of a show called "The Bible Answer Man". He happens to be on a local station and so I listen to him from time to time. Well last night I was listening and he had the author of the book "Christian Zionism: Road to Armagedon?" http://www.equip.org/store/details.asp?SKU=B926 on. The show was rather hard on Christian Zionism. I pretty much agreed with what was said and it made a very good point that God wants both Arabs and Jews to be converted and is not really on either side in a sense, though the atrocities should be condemned. Mr. Hanagraph also in the last few years has come out as Amillenial which caused a bit of a stir in the pre-trib world ie. Lahaye and Jenkins stuff. Well last night he mentioned them and implied the movement was "cultic". This station I was listening to is very pre-trib Lahaye and Jenkins/Christian Zionist/dispensationalist/pre-trib friendly. I think it is going to cause a bit of a stir to say the least. Wonder if the station will drop him. The show is available at:

You know,

I listen to him every once in a while now...use to a lot more...and I have noticed some changes with him. I have to admit, I like the changes. The station I listen to is way more conservative than the one you describe. I will have to listen later to see if I agree or not about it being cultic.

The biggest problem that I have had with CRI in the past is their promotion of psychology-based ministries. I know, I may get kicked off the forum for this, but Dobson, Yancy, and so on...the idea that the Bible is a self-help book to fix our problems, and increase our self-esteem, is wrong in my opinion. I hope that CRI changes that too. I like Hank, though, he has challenged me to think over the past 5 or 6 years. I do not always agree, but he always gets me looking something up in my Bible, and praying about it, you know?

Concerning the psychology thing, I just think that man's wisdom should not be mixed with God's wisdom. This seems dangerous to me. The flesh fixing the flesh, is self-righteous. We do not need the world's version of healing, imo. I think a more Biblical path is to trust the Spirit to sanctify believers, and heal them through their loving obedience to God.

The Lord bless you.

Actually I would call this station conservative.

Interestingly enough I would have to say that Hank is slowly lining up more and more with Catholic thinking in these areas. His saying that God wants both Moslems and Jews to come to Christ was write on and why the Vatican does not take sides in such a war, though they will come out against particular actions.

Hank was raised in a Dutch Reformed Church and is now anti-Calvinist. I listened to a debate he moderated and he wasn't able to stop himself from making comments that were anti-Calvinist, he wouldn't allow James White to finish his remarks or comments and didn't press for White's questions to be answered.

Hank's fiction is clearly Amil Preterist, and yes, he is becoming more and more Latin every day.

I could see Hank doing that. With his knowledge of scripture I would think it would be hard to sit by and not speak when you disagreed with someone. I've heard him moderate a couple of debates on-air and he's not a good one. But this weakness of his is not his alone. I've seen debates where "christian zionists" were involved with the moderator being like minded and the same thing happened.

So if Hank is now "anti-calvinist" is he a heretic or are the Calvinists heretics? He's not Armenean so maybe they are the heretics? Or is it all just one big happy family even though they are bitter opponents of eachother and contradict eachother on the Bible?

I have to tell you that at least this particular station would give a non-denominational Christian a headache. Everything from Hank to the ones he calls cultic (Christian zionists, pre-tribs) to a oneness guy. They even for a while had an Orthodox program on Saturday afternoons. Not sure if it is still on. The Lutheran guy preaches baptismal regeneration. :o . It's pretty "diverse" theologically. So what is truth? Does it matter?

Blessings

Yes, it evidently stirred things up a bit. I emailed another radio host on that station and got back the following.

"I heard and am trying to do something about it. He is dangerous.".

:o

So if Hank is now "anti-calvinist" is he a heretic or are the Calvinists heretics?

No and no.

He's not Arminian so maybe they are the heretics?

I believe Hank would say no.

Or is it all just one big happy family even though they are bitter opponents of eachother and contradict eachother on the Bible?

You can't choose your family, God does.

Hank Hanagreff
Stole the bible answerman show and is currently involved in many lawsuits against him. This is one reason he moved away from Southern california.
He is a dope

Heh! The PreTrib movement is cultic. I like that. It gave me a chuckle. I listen to Hank from time to time. I don't agree with all he says but he's ok.

Seems like everyone on this thread is an moderator. :sad (maybe 1 isn't?)
I think that I will look for a new forum!
