1 Cor. 15:33, 34: Do not be deceived: Evil company corrupts good habits. Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.
In Psalm 1, David warns that happiness will never be found by walking, standing, or sitting with the ungodly. Sin has a seductive power that is all too real, and the pages of the Word of God highlight the lives of many people who did not resist its allure. Is it the pleasure it promises, if only for a moment? Is it that the ungodly represent wealth, power, and prestige? Or is the fear of being rejected by the pseudo-intellectuals who scorn anyone who puts their faith in God?
The ungodly know nothing of the blessedness or happiness that God provides to those who love Him. The ungodly are not so, David says, but are like the chaff which wind drives away ( Ps. 1:4). Chaff, the dry coverings of grain removed by the process of thressing, is worthless. Ungodliness will only lead to moral corruption and cynicism downward in destruction. Once you begin to walk with sin, its grip can only be loosened by the power of God and the blood of Christ.
Walking leads to standing in the path of sinners. The sinners path is the way of our permissive soceity. Nothing is wrong anymore. The counsel of the ungodly has met in chambers, and these doctors of damnation and masters of deceit have redeemed sin. Oral sex is not real sex, adultry is free love, and liars are only extroverts with big imaginations. But sin is what God says it is, and His labels never change. Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin ( James 4:17). whatever is not from faith is sin ( Romans 14:23). To flirt with the world is to love the world. You must turn away from this path. Run from it.
We are living in a world that has gone mad. Some so-called Christians approve of things like abortion, homosexuality, living together without marriage, take drugs because it feels good, and seem to thiink that pornagraphy is OK. I implore us to seek the face of God and start praying for our nation like ever before. Pray the prayer in 2 Chronicles 7:14. Or this nation faces destruction in these last days.
