I'm not sure whether or not you guys remember when I wrote a special message for my mother here on Mother's Day, but this one is for my father. Now, if I was to be a hundred percent truthful with you guys (which I'm going to be since I believe very strongly in the fact that honesty is always the best policy) my father and I haven't always been close. In fact we socialize more nowadays, but I still don't have the kind of relationship that I do with my mom, but I know that we still love each other very much even if we don't always get along.
Then again, what family does? There are times when even I fight with the Father of all fathers but I'm sure He knows that I still love Him, and with the recent incident that happened yesterday of being accused that since I'm adopted I don't have what you call a "real" father, I say that's a bunch of *BEEP!* My so called real father is the reason that my biological mother gave me up for adoption in the real place since not only did he get her pregnant irresponsibly, but he also abandoned her to have her take care of me all by herself! Which she knew that she couldn't and she loved me enough that she knew she had to give me up to a family that could love me and raise me properly.
So yeah, I admire her for that and I give her tons of respect for making one of the hardest if not the hardest decision a woman ever has had to make. However, I have absolutely no respect for my biological father at all because I don't think he even loved or cared about both of us just to take off like he did. I do feel awful about the fact that he fell off a cliff when I was a child, but that's just about as much sympathy I have towards a man who was never a father to me and I hardly ever knew him.
As I said before, my (real) father and I haven't exactly always seen eye to eye but he has always given me a laugh when I needed one, taught me how to fish and enjoy camping, and we've always had fun back when I was a little girl at our Daddy Daughter dances together back in elementary school.
Of course he isn't perfect, but no human (except Jesus) is. We also share the same love for oldie music and the film Secondhand Lions, and I find that we also share the same irritation for a lot of things in this life as well. Lol! So God has definitely blessed me with a wonderful father and the truth is I wouldn't trade him or any other people in my family for the world. On that note, I want to wish all of the dad's on here a very happy Father's Day, and to all fathers everywhere! Most importantly my heavenly Father who also adopted me into His family and gave His one and only (holy) Son to die on the cross for my sins.
