For those of you that follow YHWH's feasts and understand that these feasts are prophetic of Christ and things to come, the New Moon was sighted in Israel starting Nisan 1. Here's an excerpt:

New Moon Report
April 2011
First Biblical Month

On Monday April 4, 2011 the new moon was sighted from Israel. The moon was first
sighted from Mount Hezekiah at 7:28 pm by Nehemia Gordon and at 7:29 pm by Yoel
Halevi. The moon was also sighted from Ashdod by Magdi Shamuel at 7:40 pm.

A photograph of the moon sighted from Mount Hezekiah in the Eilat Mountains is

Chag HaMatzot (Feast of Unleavened Bread) will begin April 18 at sunset.

Although Nehemiah Gordon (one of the observers) does not accept Jesus as Messiah, I find his observations invaluable for determination of the calendar the way they did back in bible times.

Tim, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the spring the start of the new calendar year and the fall, the start of the real new year? :chin

:lol I was talking about the Hebrew calendar, Vic, and the way they kept it in bible times. Ya know, the feast days and whatnot. But in real life, I pop a few champagnes on the night of December 31 as well.

Yes, I understand, but I thought Yom Kippur (< spelling?) was/is their new year.

Oh, I understand now what you mean. Yes, you are right. But they have TWO new years. Religious (the one I pointed out) and CIVIL (in the 7th month).
