Harry Potter? What Does God Have To Say?

we ordered from B&N and found it at Sam's Club cheaper so we got it there instead.

I read it this weekend. Probably the most entertaining yet.

I'm not a huge fan of her writing style (and I think she lifts so much from Tolkien it borders on plagarism), but the plot development in this one was probably the best.

I also really like the way she deals with more advanced age-related issues in each novel. The stresses of being 17 were well represented. I would have loved to have read these books as a teenager.

To me, these books are kind of like junk food. Fun to eat every once in a while, but not too filling.

When you hear people comment on the HP books what do you hear them say? "I love the morals and the plots." So you ever hear them say, "The witchcraft is amazing!"

No... you don't.

As long as the person is able to sicern that it is not real then I think it is ok.

Right... I'm sure you can perform real magic by waving a wand around and speaking Latin...

As a former witch, I can speak with authority when I say that I have examined the works of Rowling and that the Harry Potter books are training manuals for the occult.
Yes, I'm sure. I know real Wiccans, and, although they think they are performing real magic. They aren't. From them, I've heard that their "spells" are nothing like Harry Potter.

Harry also learns a new vocabulary, including words such as "Azkaban", "Circe", "Draco", "Erised", "Hermes", and "Slytherin"; all of which are names of real devils or demons. These are not characters of fiction!
Hedwig is Harry's owl.

"Section: F.A.Q.
Question: Did the character Hedvig in Henrik Ibsen's "The Wild Duck" influence the naming of Harry Potter's owl?
Rowling: No, I found St. Hedwig in a book of medieval saints years ago, and the name stuck fast in my memory."
-- JK Rowling's website.

A griffin symbolizes the House that Harry is in. A griffin also symbolizes Jesus. Headmaster Dumbledore owns a phoenix that heals others and protects, and even saves Harry, from death by the evil wizards. A phoenix symbolizes Jesus as well. Harry's happiest feeling takes the shape of a stag, which is the medieval symbol of Jesus.

By the way, Draco, Slytherin, Azkaban, and Erised are all put in a bad light.

High level witches believe that there are seven satanic princes and that the seventh, which is assigned to Christians, has no name. In coven meetings, he is called "the nameless one." In the Harry Potter books, there is a character called "Voldemort." The pronunciation guide says of this being "He who must not be named."
Voldemort is the most evil wizard in the fictional history of the world. He equates to the devil.

Harry Potter gets kids to think about magic and other
things that have to do with it. It's witch craft and it makes children
focus on things that are against God.
This is fairy tale magic. You know, the kind where you wave around a wand, a colorful lights comes out, and you can change a teacup into a feather. You know, the kind that everyone knows isn't real.

Anything else that's supposedly "evil" in the series?

Heh. Get rid of Harry Potter. Oh, you need to get rid of the Lion, Witch and Wardrobe. May as well get rid of the Wizard of Oz for promoting the idea of a good witch.

I find it funny that a book written by a Christian woman about kids that work together and do good to all around them sounds like the work of Satan to some people. I guess the Holy Spirit is leading people like Dr. James Dobson and Chuck Colson astray. If only the Holy Spirit was a little more consistent, then we could know if a book about kids battling evil is a good book or not.

I'm finding it funny that you believe J.K. Rowling is a born again Christian.
The Wizard of Oz IS filled with witchcraft. And, James Dobson is a hypocrite. Just because a person is famous, and thumps their chest, and says "I'm a CHRISTIANNNNN!" don't necessarily make it so.

Such wickedness you speak.
How can you continue to blaspheme the Holy Word of God, by comparing the Rowlings books with ANYTHING HOLY??
Just amazing, how FAR a stretch a person will reach to in order to justify their sinfulness.
The people today who call themselves Christians, yet, they are quite lost, and on the path to hell, are part of the growing spiritual darkness, which is enveloping the minds of the people who are lost. There is a Satanic deception being spread across the land, and people are buying into it.
It gets rid of anything to do with God's righteousness, His wrath, His jealousy, His judgement, it gets rid of the penalty for sin, this new easy believism is deluding millions of people.
No one talks about sin, or what's wrong, no one says what God says about whoremongering, adultery, lying, stealing, homosexuality, lesbianism, witchcraft, sorcery, drunkenness, revelings, idolatry, no one talks about spiritual wickedness in high places, preachers rarely talk about the Lake of Fire, or how no sin will be allowed into Heaven.
All you hear nowadays is God is love, God won't put anyone into the Lake of Fire, God isn't REALLY going to allow anyone to be tormented in flames forever, God doesn't condemn any sins. That's politically incorrect. It's HATE SPEECH. Did you know, while you Christians were sleeping, that preachers are getting pressured by legislators to stop them from preaching certain topics FROM THE BIBLE?
While you were sleeping, the devil has been crushing your pastors and your church body with laws, restrictions, and an ever tightening noose of labels against the Bible.
Wake up! Pray!
If the Gestapo came to your church, and held a trial against all the Christians, and put the REAL Christians in jail for their testimony, would there be enough evidence to convict YOU?

Vinc, you continue to tell the truth.

Don't ever back down. Your reward is in HEAVEN.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Remember what Jesus said:
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.
he that hateth me hateth my Father also.

Just remember that, Vinc, whenever people such as those in here try to muddy up the Holy Word of God. God is not the author of confusion. No where in the Bible does God ever approve of ANY form of evil, or witchcraft.
Think of how wicked the person is who is causing LITTLE CHILDREN to stumble, by promoting these witchcraft books, TO children.
What an ever increasing spiritually dark world this is!
Continue to be a light.
Continue to be salt.
Continue to be a testimony for Jesus Christ.

She's been attending the Church of Scotland her whole life. When someone says they are a Christian, chances are, he/she is.

Such wickedness you speak.
How can you continue to blaspheme the Holy Word of God, by comparing the Rowlings books with ANYTHING HOLY??
Simple. Because there are similarities. A stag, phoenix, unicorn, and griffin all symbolize Jesus, and these creatures are all on the good side. The stag and phoenix even save Harry's life repeatedly.

If the Gestapo came to your church, and held a trial against all the Christians, and put the REAL Christians in jail for their testimony, would there be enough evidence to convict YOU?
I'm quite sure there would be enough evidence.

First off, I do hope that God doesn't approve of any evil...

Secondly, the Biblical witchcraft they speak of is far different from the fantasy magic in Harry Potter.

Think of how wicked the person is who is causing LITTLE CHILDREN to stumble, by promoting these witchcraft books, TO children.
Think of how great the person is who glorifies love above all else, extreme loyalty to all those who do good, friendship that can endure all tests, and doing what is right and not what is easy. Think of how great the person is who demonizes hate, murder of the innocent, corruptness, and those who believe in only power.

Do you think Lord of the Rings is evil? Or the Chronicles of Narnia?

You dont??

Examine yourself, see if you truly have a relationship with Jesus Christ.

I'm not criticizing you, I'm telling you that you're walking so close to the edge of the pits of hell you can't seem to tell the difference between good and evil.

I don't see how anyone can...

I find that insulting.

If Harry Potter had no magic or anything like it in the books, would it still be evil in your opinion?

Wow, this thread is over ten years old and I'm just now finding it. Anyways, it's really good to know and to remind myself that I'm not the only Christian Harry Potter lover. Obviously it's fiction and I would like to think that anybody with half a brain cell would know that. Boy, things are really going to get interesting around here now that I'm restarting a conversation that began back when I was still a teenager. :popcorn :pepsi2*grabs my refreshments and waits for the show to begin* :lol

By the way, sorry if my comment offends anybody who doesn't like Harry Potter, that wasn't my intention. You don't have to watch it or read it but I just find it all a bit silly from the way people talk about it just imho. :sorry2x

I remember, as a kid, being wary of Bewitched because I knew in my heart the premise of the show was satanic. As an adult I watch it from time to time because I know it's just silly fiction. What about kids today? How many are being exposed to witchcraft and being seduced into thinking it's harmless. As a teen, I knew an adult lady who loved Bewitched. I also found a book of witchcraft on her bookshelf. Kids are easily led astray. I never watched or read any Harry Potter stuff. That same little voice from childhood tells me to steer clear.

Harry Potter?
What Does God Have To Say?

I am writing this urgent message because I was once a witch. I lived by the stars as an astrologer and numerologist casting horoscopes and spells. I lived in the mysterious and shadowy realm of the occult. By means of spells and magic, I was able to invoke the powers of the "controlling unknown" and fly upon the night winds transcending the astral plane. Halloween was my favorite time of the year and I was intrigued and absorbed in the realm of Wiccan witchcraft. All of this was happening in the decade of the 1960’s when witchcraft was just starting to come out of the broom closet.

It was during that decade of the 1960’s, in the year 1966, that a woman named J.K. Rowling was born. This is the woman who has captivated the world in this year of 2000 with four books known as the "Harry Potter Series." These books are orientational and instructional manuals of witchcraft woven into the format of entertainment. These four books by J.K. Rowling teach witchcraft! I know this because I was once very much a part of that world.

Witchcraft was very different in the 1960’s. There were a lot fewer witches, and the craft was far more secretive. At the end of that spiritually troubled decade, I was miraculously saved by the power of Jesus Christ and His saving blood. I was also delivered from every evil spirit that lived in me and was set free. However, as I began to attend fundamental Christian churches, I realized that even there witchcraft had left its mark. Pagan holidays and sabats were celebrated as "Christian holidays."

As time went on, I watched the so-called "Christian" churches compromising and unifying. I also watched with amazement as teachings from Eastern religions and "New Age" doctrine began to captivate congregations. It was a satanic set-up, and I saw it coming. Illuministic conspirators were bringing forth a one-world religion with a cleverly concealed element of occultism interwoven in its teachings.

In order to succeed in bringing witchcraft to the world and thus complete satanic control, an entire generation would have to be induced and taught to think like witches, talk like witches, dress like witches, and act like witches. The occult songs of the 1960’s launched the Luciferian project of capturing the minds of an entire generation. In the song "Sound Of Silence" by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, we were told of seeds that were left while an entire generation was sleeping, and that the "vision that was planted in my brain still remains."

Now it is the year 2000. All of the foundations for occultism and witchcraft are in place. The Illuminists have to move quickly, because time is running out.

It was the Communist revolutionary Lenin who said, "Give me one generation of youth, and I will transform the entire world." Now an entire generation of youth has been given to a woman named J.K. Rowling and her four books on witchcraft, known as the Harry Potter Series.

As a former witch, I can speak with authority when I say that I have examined the works of Rowling and that the Harry Potter books are training manuals for the occult. Untold millions of young people are being taught to think, speak, dress and act like witches by filling their heads with the contents of these books. Children are obsessed with the Harry Potter books that they have left television and video games to read these witchcraft manuals.

The first book of the series, entitled "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone", finds the orphan, Harry Potter, embarking into a new realm when he is taken to "Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." At this occult school, Harry Potter learns how to obtain and use witchcraft equipment. Harry also learns a new vocabulary, including words such as "Azkaban", "Circe", "Draco", "Erised", "Hermes", and "Slytherin"; all of which are names of real devils or demons. These are not characters of fiction!

How serious is this? By reading these materials, many millions of young people are learning how to work with demon spirits. They are getting to know them by name. Vast numbers of children professing to be Christians are also filling their hearts and minds, while willingly ignorant parents look the other way.

The titles of the books should be warning enough to make us realize how satanic and anti-christ these books are. The afore mentioned title of the first book, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone", was a real give away. The second book was called "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", while the third book was entitled "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban."

Sadly enough, this blatant witchcraft has been endorsed by well-known and respected "Christian" leaders, such as Dr. James Dobson and Chuck Colson, who have proven themselves to be modern day Judas Iscariots. Nothing could be more obvious than that Harry Potter books are pure witchcraft and of the devil. The "Christian" leaders, however, defend them by saying that good magic always wins and overcomes evil magic.

This is the oldest con game ever hatched out of hell. As a real witch, I learned about the two sides of "the force." Apparently, so do many "Christian" leaders. When real witches have sabats and esbats and meet as a coven, they greet each other by saying "Blessed be", and when they part, they say "The Force be with you." Both sides of this "Force" are Satan. It is not a good side of the force that overcomes the bad side of the force, but rather it’s the blood of Jesus Christ that destroys both supposed sides of the satanic "Force."

High level witches believe that there are seven satanic princes and that the seventh, which is assigned to Christians, has no name. In coven meetings, he is called "the nameless one." In the Harry Potter books, there is a character called "Voldemort." The pronunciation guide says of this being "He who must not be named."

On July 8 at midnight, bookstores everywhere were stormed by millions of children to obtain the latest and fourth book of the series known as "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." These books were taken into homes everywhere with a real evil spirit following each copy to curse those homes. July 8th was also the 18th day (three sixes in numerology) from the witches’ sabat of midsummer. July 8th was also the 13th day from the signing of the United Religions Charter in San Francisco. Now we have learned that the public school system is planning to use the magic of Harry Potter in the classrooms making the public schools centers of witchcraft training.

What does God have to say about such books as the Harry Potter series? In the Bible in the book of Acts, we read the following in the 19th chapter, verses 18 - 20: "And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the Word of God and prevailed."

As parents, we will answer to God if we allow our children to read witchcraft books. The Word of God will prevail mightily in your life only if such things of Satan are destroyed. This tract has been prayed over, and I hope it has helped you. If we may be of further assistance, please contact us.

Merlin had a magic wand. The Harry Potter movies are the Merlin story for our age. Both their magic wands were made of the wood from Holly. Holly is considered by some to be Holy. Hollywood is used to change the conscience of the whole Human Race. Through the moving talking Images we've all been exposed to things that have harden are hearts, blinded are eyes and deafen our ears to only follow the example given by these Images for most of us in this age. Most people would never know the different ways to kill if it wasn't for watching Hollywood Films.
