Hate religion - Love god

I had an assembly a few months back in my school, we were shown a video

Found it again recently but not to sure what it means and i didnt back then either so maybe somebody can give me a summary of it all

I would have to horribly disagree. He had 12 apostles give up everything to follow him and learn his teachings. He taught that he was the way, the truth and the life. He wanted his apostles to teach people and gain a following to teach about him as well. Sure some let starving people die on the street while they build palaces of gold. But this is because of the following reasons.

A. Hippocracy, They call themselves Christian but either don't know the first thing about it or simply just use it to get more respect from certain peoples within the religion.

B. Catholicism, I wouldn't be so quick to label them as greedy jerks so fast. While im not catholic i could see the reason they would do that. To glorify God before they aid others. But i am not going to go into my opinion on that right now.

My point is the objective is not to let these people starve and not aid them, THE GOAL is to help people and lead them to salvation on top of aiding them in the flesh by feeding them and educating them at the least on the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I rather much liked the video, we watched it at Sunday school. Some hate it and it made them angry and some loved it.

Yeah but the fact that he wants us to live together and bring new people i think says that you don't just hate religion and love Jesus, But rather appreciate Christianity and love Jesus

Isn't that more of fellowship and spreading the word? If so, you can't really hate it because Jesus did that. I saw it more of why he hates religion because everyone acts one way and says if your Christian than you can't do this but you do that. Yet the true Christians just try to follow Jesus and live the best life they can according to Gods word.

Understandable, But i am not going to show hatred for when people decide to get together in a place and talk about the scripture and educate people on it. (Of course thats not always what happens and its usually not. People aren't told the truth in alot of the time.)

Hmmm, can you elaborate a bit more on this though?

Sure i thought about it while i was eating. I remembered that i only trust what the scripture can tell me. Any minister that tells me ______ without me seeing any grounds for it based in scripture or personal experience i simply (Unless their is a special case.) cant believe it. Yeah to an extent its true. But i still appreciate Christianity as a religion. Just different, We aren't as tight as other ones. You wont be ex-communicated for thinking something different. I think the only place where Christianity is to be fully drawn as something else is when you do not take Jesus as your savior. So no, I dont hate religion, It can do some good things. But i wouldn't prefer conventional religion taking over the world. Because unless its taken from scripture where did you get it? So to an extent i agree, But i am not so fast to ex-communicate the church. Or perhaps its im not so eager to i guess.

Well put, I see where your coming from. Here I was looking at it as all the same, without the sinful church and standards people sometimes set. But those standards mostly keep us in place, as long as they follow along with the word....idk I could be completely off.

I think people should let scripture/god guide them rather than the church, But churches can still be good to great places to go to be with other christians and discuss these things. Plus i recon they are big for converting new people to the religion. I think you are fine as long as you take Jesus as your savior and repent on your sins. But i can tell that plenty of people out there use religion just to make cash. Often not even believing in what they are teaching but teaching whatever earns them money. Those people are out there and you have to watch out for them.

I'm seeing a middle road forming here, which is Good. Christiainity is a religion of Jesus' people and to say that you hate it while loving Jesus is a complete contradiction because You cannot be a christian without loving Jesus. The error of religion is that too much we do not stand against the false practices we often see in religion, like deacon's openly having an affair or things of this nature.

The good middle ground is that like this pastor said in a follow-up video, we've got to love Jesus without tolerating the legalism that weaker religous persons will create to feel more righteous.

Simply agreed. :)

Preach it! That is very well put! ;)

Okay, so here comes the question.(I end every sermin with one. :) )

Is there anything about how you and I live out our faith that would be something Jesus would have to call you out on if we met with him face to face? If we hate legalism in our faith, then we must find the things we are incorrectly justifying and get them OUT of our lives.

Keep in mind that there is no need to air whatever God deals with you on, simply know that the truth is, no message taught from God will be void of immediate applications for our lives.
