Have you ever been to a Psychologist?

Nikki

Member
My doctor thinks I may benefit from one because of the depression and anxiety I've been going through the past couple months.

She's trying me on medication first, but thinks that a psychologist may be more beneficial. I partially think she may be right because I DO feel much better talking about my problems. If I'm upset or something is bothering me, I deal with it best by talking about things to a friend, family or my online friends.

Any advice?

Actually, my problems started back up when I started school...yes. BUT, I have a history of depression. Plus, when I was a teen, I was a cutter for a very short time. So, I've been "crazy" since my teen years!

I think just the stress of school, borderline failing (which, I'm happy to report that my grades ARE coming up in math), volunteer work, my kids constant fighting, worrying about my niece and mom, etc. I just have a LOT on me right now and I feel like I'm spiraling out of control. I cry so much and I don't know why. Honestly, I have a wonderful life. I'm so blessed. So, WHY am I so down?! I just don't get it.

I started back on Welbutrin 2 months ago. It did NOTHING for me. In the past, it has.

I saw one once in elementary school. Long Story...

I won't ask for details, but would you recommend it or not?

And now that school is out, I'm doing GREAT! I think a lot of my problem is that I can't deal with stress.

Hi Nikki,

I have seen one, and have been helped by reading books written by them.

How ever I do not recommend a non Christian one.

They are extremely good at recognizing the problem. How ever it is up to you to find a way out.

But I have found out that if you recognize the problem it it much easier to find a solution.

I will pray for your success.

Seasons Greetings.

Some people have a chemical imbalance that leads to abnormal feelings.

Diagnosing this and getting correct medication would hopefully help you feel better.

Being dependent on this medication for life, just to feel better, may not be
a good long term solution.

However if such medication prevents severe depression, it is better than
suffering for the rest of your life.

I find that exercise helps me to have an altered brain chemistry,
by releasing natural endorphins.

I have listened to many good psychologist.

I have never bean to one, but if they are Christian, why not ?
