Re: Have you ever threw a hissy fit?

Yes, I have thrown a hissy fit, but it was a righteous hissy fit. ;)

haha, dave you make some pretty random topics some times :thumb

Yes i have when i was younger. i used to have anger management problems (younger than ten)

Yes, but not so much now.

A friend of mine at a my church whom I am growing up with used to be absolutely phsyco, I think he used to have ADD or something and in Sunday school he climbed on the roof and stuff. A few years ago he came to know Christ, and has completely changed. Awesome guy.

As a child and as a adult, getting ready to have one now. I would even fall out on the floor and refuse to get up, in the supermarket when my wife would not let me have my Captain Crunch .

Did she get this on video? :lol Besides, why is it up to your wife for you to get Captain Crunch? I say if you want it, buy it! :-) Or, stop at the store on your way home from work and get it so she doesn't know. :D

:toofunny :rofl that was good Lewis. I'll have to try that with my husband the next time I'm in a jewelry store gazing on a huge rock.....it might just work....he can't stand it when I cry....add alittle head banning on the floor, a little kicking and screaming in front of customers there, just might do the trick. Let you know how it goes, if he don't read this! :thumb

I tell you what, if my wife would have laid out on the floor in a store, I would have got her what ever she wanted. And then I would have said baby, my sweet, sweet baby, honey suckle, sugar plum, you fine, fine woman you, would you please get up off the floor now, a crowd of people have surrounded us. My oldest son use to do that with his great grand mom in the supermarket, when he was little, he would really put on a performance, he would not do that with me though, if you all know what I mean.

No, but I was raised in a rather strict environment where that never would have been allowed. So if I did do it, it had to have been when I was really small and only once, but I don`t recall doing it nor do I recall seeing other kids simply b/c that wouldn`t have been allowed. So I still don`t do it because it never had a chance to take root in me, but my son sometimes has tantrums. I suppose it is because I`m not as strict as perhaps I should be.

When I was coming up, my dad would have kicked my tale to the moon, for such an infraction. My dad did not kick my tale to be mean, but to teach us, and he kicked my tale twice when I was in my 20's because I was out of control.

Yeah, Lewis, what you described is just the way it was when I was growing up. All the parents had a practical, no nonsense, to the point way of raising children, and we were told it did not matter how old we were, if we acted like a child we`d be treated like one. I didn`t get to have the parents that read the books on trying to understand why the child is having the tantrum or to empathize with the child during this time of obvious distress. I would have just been whacked on the spot and told to "straighten up" or I`d get more when I got home. Discipline was so simple for parents then. I think now a days we may over analyze parenting a bit too much.

Dave, I think if you ask these questions, you should be obligated to contribute to the discussion by answering them as well. So were/are you a tantrum thrower?
