I just had mine done and it’s the best thing I have ever done. I am more at ease when distributing my writings. It costs $30. One word of advice, Make sure if you decided to do this when you go to mail it ask for a read receipt, it takes forever to get a certificate back.

also, you don't have to copyright one poem at a time. You can send as many as you want for $30 and give them a title.
For example you could title it:

(your name)poetry volume one.


I just sent in all of the poetry I had written at that point.
