Hello, my name is Jim, and I’m thrilled to be part of this group! I’ve spent years studying Bible prophecy and watching how world events align with Scripture. The more I study, the more I realize how relevant and urgent these prophecies are today.

One passage that has really captured my heart lately is 2 Peter 1:19:
"We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts."

This verse reminds me that prophecy isn’t just about future events—it’s a guiding light in uncertain times, that will help us to prepare for the days ahead. With everything happening in the world today, I’d love to hear your thoughts:

💬 What prophecy do you believe is being fulfilled before our eyes?

Looking forward to great discussions and learning from everyone!

Well blessings in Christ, and welcome to our Forum!

I'm a big student of prophecy as well. Personally, I would say Joel 2:28 is beginning to be fulfilled more and more now; maybe not so much the full outpouring yet, but the fact that prophetic visions and dreams are being restored to the body of Christ with increasing frequency now : )

You know the verse you quoted is an amazing verse from a prophetic perspective. If I may ask, what does that verse mean to you? (no wrong answers, btw, just a curiosity thing).

Welcome once again, and good having you!
Hidden In Him

You are spot on "Hidden in Him" Joel 2:28 was prophesied about 400 years before it's fulfillment in Acts 2. And I see this Scripture being fulfilled on a regular basis. So you are spot on my friend.

There's actually a LOT Joel prophesied that is going to be fulfilled : ) Every time I look at that book, I seem to pick up something new. Last time I was looking, I recall picking up on the line that said, "And they shall run like war horses." I ended up writing a three part series on it. I should transfer that to this forum, now that you are reminding me of it : )

I am so glad you ask that question Hidden in Him, and by the way I Love your handle it reminds me of Psalms 91:1-2.

My wife and I just recently returned for doing Missionary work in Thailand, we were there 6 years proclaiming Jesus Christ to a dark idolatrous world. But we really saw some Miracles there. But about 8 Months before we left Thailand, the Lord Jesus spoke to me and told me I want you to write 2 books, then He gave me the name of them. The first was Faith Unto Salvation is it a Confession or an experience, the second was "A Sure Word of Prophecy: Where are we on God's Time-Clock. So 2 Peter 1:19 when I read it it lets me know God (Jesus Christ is His Name) knows the Beginning and the Ending -- and everything in-between. Prophecy is meant to prepare us not scare us. Thank you for your question Hidden in Him, I hope this answered it. I know I took the long route, but I wanted to give a little context. :)

"A Sure Word of Prophecy: Where are we on God's Time-Clock. So 2 Peter 1:19 when I read it it lets me know God (Jesus Christ is His Name) knows the Beginning and the Ending -- and everything in-between.

Thank you for the answer, Jim. He most certainly does know the beginning from the end.

"We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts." (2 Peter 1:19)

I have found as an interpreter of dreams - and I have seen this happen so many times now that I've lost track - that He enjoys showing you He knows the future. Some I can interpret accurately almost instantly and some I can only think I know, but six months, eight months, a year, and occasionally several years down the road I find out what the dream actually meant, and then you just go Wow.... and you are reminded again, that He is God, and that He sees things you could never fathom long before they happen; people you never knew you would meet, relationships that you had no idea were coming, dreams coming true that you thought might never even be possible.

But as Peter stated, understanding the prophetic and moving in it doesn't just happen the moment we get saved. It's something that forms within you, usually over years of time, like a light coming on in a dark place. But it comes on stronger and stronger. like the dawning of the day, until it begins to illuminate your whole life.

Blessings again, and please feel free to post on anything you would like here. We are happy to have you and hope you can make a home here. :thumbsup2

Thank you, my dear friend, for your kind words and warm welcome. I see our Christian life as a journey of continual growth. The reason I say this is because Scripture teaches that we must be born again.

Just as you quoted Joel 2:28 yesterday, when this Scripture was fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2, it was the very Born-Again experience the Lord spoke to Nicodemus about in John 3. In light of this, when we are born again, we start out not knowing much. But as we learn to depend on the Lord Jesus Christ, He begins to nurture us—giving us a hunger for His Word and a longing to be in His Presence. We can compare our natural growth to Spiritual growth, here is an example.

When our children first begin eating, they try to hold the spoon, and we often see food all over the floor because their coordination hasn't quite developed yet. Similarly, when we first come into the Church, we have so much to learn. And, our thought process isn’t fully formed when it comes to spiritual things. But the Lord, as our Heavenly Father, is patient. He allows us to learn through experience and provides us with Scripture, such as Luke 24:45. When we turn this verse into a prayer, asking God to open our understanding, He will reveal His Word to us.

Then, there are moments when we are reading and studying the precious Word of God, and suddenly, a verse seems to leap off the page. We find ourselves saying, Wow, I've read this Scripture so many times, but I've never seen this before! Lord bless you and your precious family today.

Thank you, my dear friend, for your kind words and warm welcome. I see our Christian life as a journey of continual growth. The reason I say this is because Scripture teaches that we must be born again.

Yes, and His Spirit leads us into all truth. I think speaking to the disciples in parables was deliberate (like everything He does), with the intent being that we will have to seek Him for the rest of our lives to truly know what the mysteries of God mean. Truly the word is open to everyone, and some things even the smallest child can understand. But many other things are held out to us like a mystery that only He knows, and which if we would hope to know them we will have to lean into Him in prayer for revelation concerning what was truly meant.

It's so we will always be reminded that we need Him, and that we must never think we have arrived and no longer do.

That is so true. I liken the Word of God at times to a big puzzle, not only in Prophecy, but also in finding the true Straight and Narrow path.
Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
(Luke 13:23-24, KJV)
Jesus’ response emphasized the difficulty of finding the narrow path. Why? Because there are so many voices today speaking half-truths—deceptive teachings that arise when the Word of God is taken out of context. Many today misinterpret Scripture, building doctrines that are only partially true.

For example, consider Romans 10:9-10. Many teach that salvation comes by faith alone, claiming that all one must do is say, "I believe," and they are saved. But is this really true? Then they reference Ephesians 2:8-9, asserting that salvation is by faith and not by works—completely disregarding Acts 2:38, where Peter explicitly told the people what they must do to be saved, the day the Church began.

When Paul spoke to the Roman Church in Romans 10:9-10, he was not affirming a new doctrine but reminding the Church that faith is what led them to obey the whole Word of God. The Roman and Ephesian believers had already repented of their sins, been baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ, and most had received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Yet many preachers and teachers today align themselves with half-truths, and because of this, countless sincere believers who love God and seek to know Him remain spiritually weak and anemic—never having experienced the true born-again experience.

About eight months before I left Thailand, the Lord Jesus spoke to me and instructed me to write two books. The first, Faith Unto Salvation: Is It a Confession or an Experience?, directly addresses this soft doctrine—the widespread mentality of simply saying, "I believe," and assuming salvation is complete.
So, finding the true Path of Life is so vitally important, and you are so right my friend when you say we must continue to hunger and thirst for the precious Word of God.

But if we are truly hungry for the Lord He will lead and guide us into all Truth -- John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:

Welcome!

Interesting, I've been looking at this passage last week asking what is the "day dawn" and "day star" I had my spouse, sister, and 2 friend read it. Would love for you to expound.

Sure, Corinth!

2 Peter 1:19We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

What Peter is actually saying here is that we must pay attention to prophecy that will be fulfilled in the latter days. The Lord Jesus, who knows the beginning, the ending, and everything in between, is inspiring Peter to tell us about a dark time is coming and how A Sure Word of Prophecy will shine as a light, pointing to a new day. When we see these things coming to pass, we will give the Lord Jesus praise and honor, for only He knows the consummation of it all, for Jesus is the Day Star.

Daniel the prophet said it this way: "Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand." (Daniel 12:10).

You see, the world has no idea what is coming, but those who are living for the Lord Jesus Christ are, at this moment, preparing—for the End-Time is upon us.

My dear friend Corinth, I mentioned this verse from 2 Peter 1:19 because the Lord Jesus instructed me to write two books about eight months before my wife and I left Thailand, where we spent six years doing missionary work for the Lord. The first book, Faith Unto Salvation: Is It a Confession or an Experience? and the second book, A Sure Word of Prophecy: Where Are We on God's Time Clock?

I just finished the last book, and the things the Lord Jesus showed me—both in Scripture and in historical events that have happened subtly in our time, often going unnoticed—astounded me. What He revealed about the days we are living in and the things that are about to unfold is truly remarkable. Thank you so much for your question, I hope this gives you the answer you are looking for. Lord bless you and your precious family.

Hi Anchor Of Hope and welcome to CF and the great testimony you have for the Lord :wave2

I love studying prophecy in the OT and NT and am a student of the Book of Revelation studying all that is within it. Many do not bother reading this book of the Bible, but many of us want to know of those things that need to come to pass before Christ returns on the last days. IMO, I feel that we are in the midst of the seven seals found in Rev 6, but the most important thing is be be ready as part of His Bride he is coming back for.

Looking forward with sharing with each other, God bless :)

My friend, I have never done much study of prophecy. Most of the prophecy I have heard taught was about the Rapture of the Church. Seven years ago, around this time, I was preparing to go to Thailand to do missionary work for the Lord. I had been asking the Lord to allow us to go and build a church for His name, after about 6 Months the Lord Jesus spoke to me, and said "I will be with you" so, in June 2018 I arrived.

Thailand is 99.9% Buddhist. Most Thai people know the name of the Lord Jesus, but they have no idea who He is. But here is what I want to share with you. I had been in Thailand for about two months when the Lord Jesus began giving me insights into prophecy that I had never heard taught or learned before. The things He revealed to me astounded me.

For example, I had never heard anyone teach on Revelation 9:13-18. I have been in church for more than 50 years, yet the things the Lord began to show me left me amazed, flabbergasted, and astounded. I suppose the Lord Jesus must have laughed at me at times because I often caught myself with my mouth open in amazement.

You mentioned the Sixth Seal, in Revelation 9:13-18 speaks of the Sixth Trumpet. This is where we are right now. There are only seven trumpet events in the Book of Revelation, and we are most certainly in the End-Time. We must be sure we re prepared for the things that are coming will happen very quickly. Lord bless you, dear friend.
