Welcome to CF.net FaithOnly :yes

Congrats on beating Prop 8 :thumb

Ahhh. Good ol' Prop 8. Pray that it stays a 'Yes on 8' state. Schwarzenegger is currently looking for a judge to overturn the decision that the people voted for. It is a very volitile state issue here. We continue to sign petitions and get them to all of our lawmakers here. Please continue to pray for this for California. Nothing would make us happier than not being able to find a judge to do that. In California, it is almost unheard of. We will see. I know there are many of us that are not going to lay down and take this one. We have a voice and we think that God expects us to use it, just in a godly way.

:pray

Welcoming yet another Californian to CF, from the southern part of out golden state to the central part... HEYA! :clap3

In Jesus sweet love... bonnie :D

Wow another brethern from California. I was born in Oakland across Bay Bridge from S.F. (Navy Brat) and raised in Long Beach and was bless to view the bringing in of the Queen Mary. Lived on Ocean Blvd./Pacific Coast Hwy. right on the beach. Took years getting use to being able to sleep without hearing those waves crashing on the beach. Went to the Mrytle beach here this summer and had a fold out bed on the balcony....best sleep I had in years. Went home August before last, and I cried to come back here to S.C. Stayed in Sasalido looking out over the bay at Alcatraz, great view in the morning with a cup of starbucks and a muffin. Best time walking over the golden gate bridge down into Sasalido. It was a 115 degrees and froze my bum off walking across, those winds off the bay are cold!!! Around 50 degrees. But great watching the wind surfers and the seals toying with them, and some go faster then the boats, and looking down at those cargo ships....man they're huge! And when I walk to the other side down into Sasalido, those clouds whip right through you down to the bone.

I hated coming back here....I miss the people and some of my family. The people there are just wonderful, you can stand there looking over the bay with a cup of coffee and people will come up and just start talking to you carrying on lengthy conversations, so loving and friendly....I miss home so bad....miss the surfing! What was funny was them trying to figure out my accent after being out here for a few years. They would say your from here but there's a twang in your accent, so I guess the southern drawl put a twist on it. :lol I got family in West Covina, Long Beach, L.A. and Anahiem. The only reason I came out here was to get away from the earthquakes, those 6.9's can leave you pretty shook up with over passes collasping, walls cracking, dishes breaking, man makes me want to look for a door frame to stand in. Like where can you run without feeling like you're drunk. Land surfing!!!! :biglaugh Then when I moved out here to S.C., found out I move to another fault line....smart huh? Been better to just stay home in California, the heat is a whole lot easier to handle. Still haven't lost the slang word of Bi____hen though when something is real cool....every so often it slips. And my personality must be California strong cause for some reason people guess where I'm from out here.

Anyway, welcome aboard, and I hope in Christ you enjoy your stay here.

I spent TG in the OC, Garden Grove specifically, so the weather was kinda nice.

Ahhh, Garbage Grove! I went to Skylark Elementary school there, and have some marvelous childhood memories of that little city. Many that I have written about, but not published, yet. Therefore, I am allowed to call it by it's familiar childhood name. :tongue2

I remember when it was truly a Garden, full of orange groves, and you could sail through it's streets on a bike all day, and never be molested. I remember the uniqueness of Chi-Chi's where you could get fries sizzled in real animal fat, and smothered in tabasco laden sause...YUM! I remember Box Market, where Mr. Box gave me my first lesson in integrity, as he caught me trying to sneak out of his store with a penny candy behind my back. :shades

Good days... the lovely smell of orange blossoms at evening... and momma's cooking blended into a mouth watering heart rending thought. :thumb

Hope your turkey day was excellent dear brother!

Because of Jesus... bonnie

Hey Bonnie. We went to visit my wife's Aunt in Garden Grove. She lives near Lampson and Valley View on the west side of town. I myself was born and raised in Oxnard.
