Hello, Guten Tag, Bonjour, Tha a Mhar!

Well my home town in Airdrie was the first in Strathclyde to have dual language signs (for the MOD in 1993)

Well, I think Dr Robert MacIntyre (if I remember correctly) was the first Scottish Nationalist MP elected in 1945 for Motherwell, nearby...

(Gaelic being a strong symbol of Scottishness...)

We stopped in Airdrie... maybe it was for lunch and petrol. The final 3 or 4 days, we settled in Paisley & did day trips around the area before catching the flight back to the States.

Farouk, SNP, now yer talking

Airdancer, Paisley, Inverclyde, North Ayrshire, beautiful country! Wish I had known you prior, I would have advised you to get a "Historic Scotland" pass

We bought a couple of passes, so basically, when we stopped at historic sites, we were covered. (The passes were recommended by one of the hostesses at the B&B in Glasgow where we stayed the first night; she also advised on some sights that aren't on the beaten path after she learned I'm not a typical tourist.)
