I attempted to post in the "New Member Forum" but the page wouldn't load.

Hi there,

I just found your forum, and am excited about joining. I'm always looking for fellowship with other christians.

I was saved in 1980 at an Assemblies of God summer camp in Osage Beach, MO. I've attended a variety of churches, from AG to Baptist to Foursquare, and we are currently attending a wonderful little non-denominational church in downtown Springfield, MO.

Our current pastor is an amazing young guy that is VERY Bible based. We were looking for a church with a good worship service, and most importantly a pastor that taught from the Bible. I think that a lot of churches these days are interested in filling seats instead of winning souls. So it was a long search, but we're very happy.

My handle "Contrarian" is based around my tendency to act contrary to the wisdom of man. I don't make financial, political, or even family decisions, such as health, based upon today's latest commentators, but from what I read in the Bible. A good example is today's current flight to gold and silver.

Ezekiel 7:19 says "“‘They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be treated as a thing unclean. Their silver and gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord’s wrath."

So why invest in Gold and Silver?

Revelation 6:6 says "Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds[a] of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds[c] of barley for a day’s wages,[d] and do not damage the oil and the wine!â€"

So I invest in commodities such as food. But it doesn't end there. I try to make all important decisions based upon the wisdom of God. That's why I'm called "Contrarian".

I'm looking forward to in depth discussions regarding scripture and eschetology. As well as a few good testimonials. And would love to develop relationships with a few members.

I moved this to the New Member Forum. You can PM me or another staff person you see on line if you still have problems loading this forum, but hopefully it was just a temporary glitch. I've never heard of problems loading certain ones.
