Hello to all of you, and I hope I've found a place where I can actively get involved in discussing the many questions that arise frequently in my mind, as well as to share whatever progress I feel I'm making in my study.
I've been searching for quite some time now, and began actively studying the Bible about a year ago.
I have visited a few churches (2 of them repeatedly over a few months) but have found that I find questions or dissatisfaction with with the 'doctrines' of the churches not really seeming to be supported by the Word (anywhere that I can find, anyway).
I've been greatly enjoying a weekly Bible study with neighbors (a younger couple, and simply great!) and, so far, this is where I feel I'm making the most progress in my understanding and growth. We have had a couple of visitors to the study, and there is no leader to the group... it is simply a discussion group with no set agenda, and we often go on tangents that are truly wonderful.
Anyway, I'm from Illinois, @30 miles NE of St. Louis, semi-retired, and living alone (well - 3 cats and a dog).
I'm glad to have found this site, and truly hope I can both learn from and contribute to this forum.
