I am a Catholic who is Born Again by reason of having received Christ as my Savior during an Altar Call at my brothers Non Denominational Church by praying to Christ and asking Him to become my Savior. I do not believe that the Catholic Church is the only True Church. I believe that the Eastern Orthodox Church, Mainline Protestant Churches(Those that acknowledge the Deity Of Christ and the Holy Trinity) and Fundamentalist Protestant Churches are also True Churches because they also acknowledge the Deity Of Christ and the Holy Trinity. I still believe that Saint Peter was the First Pope. I deny that the Pope is infallible. I deny Purgatory because nowhere in the Bible is Purgatory mentioned and Purgatory negates Christ's sacrifice on the Cross and Purgatory is straight from the pit of Hell for the purpose of getting individuals to believe that there is a second chance at salvation after death instead of believing that there is only one chance at salvation and that is in this life by receiving Christ as ones Savior. I do not believe that the Mass is a sacrifice. I do not pray the second half of the Hail Mary Prayer because the second half of the Hail Mary Prayer is not found in the Bible and thus is unscriptural. I do not pray to the Virgin Mary and the Saints for intercession because the Bible states that Christ is the only mediator and intercessor between God and man. The following Catholic doctrines and parts to the Mass I consider to be scriptural:
(1)The first half of the Hail Mary Prayer because the first half of the Hail
Mary Prayer comes from the Gospel Of Saint Luke and thus the first half
of the Hail Mary Prayer is scriptural.
(2)The Glory Be Prayer(Prayer to the Holy Trinity)
(3)The Bible is the infallible Word Of God
(4)The Death and Burial and Resurrection Of Christ
(5)The Sign Of The Cross
(6)The Apostles and Nicene Creeds(Except for the statement about Baptism
remits sins)
(7)The Lord's Prayer
(8)Prayers to Christ
(9)The Eucharistic Prayer(Except for the statement about the intercession of
the Virgin Mary and the Saints) that contains the words of Christ from the
the Last Supper.
(10)Baptism(I still believe in Infant Baptism as well as Adult Baptism but I
do not believe that Baptism imparts salvation. I believe that Baptism is
just a dedication of infants and adults to Christ.)
(11)Holy Communion(I still believe that Holy Communion is one of the 7
Sacraments that Christ instituted but I do not believe that the bread
and wine are the actual body and blood of Christ. I accept the Lutheran
doctrine concerning Holy Communion that states that Christ is present in
and with and under the bread and wine but the bread and wine remain
bread and wine and are not transformed into the actual body and blood
of Christ. When I receive the bread and the cup of wine I do not say
Amen or bow my head because that would be acknowledging the belief
that the bread and wine are the actual body and blood of Christ.)
(12)Confession(I still believe that Confession is one of the 7 Sacraments
that Christ instituted. I do not believe that Christ instituted Individual
Confession. I believe that Christ instituted confession of sins directly to
Him and that is why I never go to Individual Confession but instead go
to Communal Reconciliation Service where everybody confesses their
sins directly to Christ and then goes up to the altar where the priest or
lay person lays hands on and gives a blessing. I also every night when
I go to bed ask Christ to forgive any sins that I may have committed
during the day.)
(13)Confirmation(I still believe that Confirmation is the impartation of the
Holy Spirit on the Confirmation candidate. I still believe that
Confirmation is one of the 7 Sacraments that Christ instituted.)
(14)Marriage(I still believe that Marriage is one of the 7 Sacraments that
Christ instituted)
(15)Holy Orders(I still believe that Holy Orders or ordination of priests and
deacons is one of the 7 Sacraments that Christ instituted)
(16)Anointing Of The Sick(I still believe that Anointing Of The Sick is one of
the 7 Sacraments that Christ instituted but I do not believe that it has
anything to do with salvation. I believe that Anointing Of The Sick is just
for healing the sick like it states in the Book Of Saint James.)
I do not believe that the Sacraments have anything to do with salvation. I believe that the Sacraments are just church ceremonies dealing with various stages in life. I believe that salvation only comes from receiving Christ as ones Savior by praying to Him and asking Him to become ones Savior.
