Hello I just wanted to take a moment and say Hi. I've been reading through some of the threads and as expected there are some views I agree and some I disagree with. Eschatology is one of my favorite subjects and I truly believe one of the reasons most people find it hard to understand is because they do not let Scripture interpret Scripture. I believe if we set aside all that we have been taught and allow the Scriptures to interpret themselves we will come to a better understanding. I know this is hard to do, the first time this method was shown to me I thought this is nuts, it goes against everything I have been taught. My first reaction was to prove this method wrong as it poked holes in all my beliefs, but the longer I studied this approach (in an effort to prove it wrong) the more convinced I became that this was the correct way to study if a person wanted to find truth. I know that most of my posts will not be accepted by those who are not willing to entertain a new approach with an open mind, but those who are willing to approach what I have to say with an open mind might be suprised at what you find! If we attempt to squeeze someone elses view through our doctrinal filters we may miss the point entirely. Only by continuing to approach Scripture with an open mind can we continue to learn, once we believe we have it all figured out and refuse to entertain another's point of view we stifle our growth. We may find we disagree but thats ok so long as we do so after we have honestly examined the others view with an open mind!
