Hello. I am new to this site. I was brought up believing in god. But at the same time never really went to church. About 2 years ago I had a yearning to start reading the bible. My fiancé and I did own a truck and then ended up selling it due to money and family issues. We were taking care of his father that had several medical issues. We were living the state of Arizona. It was hard for me to find a job. He found one that was a local driving job. But didn't pay very well for all that he was required to do. We had over $5,000 in payday loans to make ends meet. During this time I had ordered a free bible and started to read it and pray for a solution to our problems. His sister offered to help us to a small town in the state of Kansas. Well that was January of last year. I am glad to say that God answered our prayers. We were able to move, find jobs and pay off all of our loans within a 9 month time period. I since then have bought another bible. I still read it. But not as often as I like. I did find a church that I somewhat like. My fiancé doesn't like some of the people as well. To him they seem stuck up. We both work for a local owned grocery store and none of them will really say hi to him. Or stop and chat as the will with me.

Hi @sammeyr :

Good to see you here. God bless His Word to you.

Far more than our money issues and our relations with other people, it's our relationship with a holy God Who sent His Son the Lord Jesus to die at the Cross as the Savior for sinners, that is really urgent. John 3.16 is a great verse to meditate on:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

May I encourage you to continue reading your Bible prayerfully!

Hi sammeyr and welcome. Due to God's foreknowledge of us He does call us out of the world, and it's good to hear you're responding. I hope you find this forum an asset in your growth in Christ, and that you are blessed with us. :wave

Hi sammeyr! I'm glad to see you here. Keep up what you are doing! God is SO faithful and He never fails to provide what we need...even the right church. Praying for God's wisdom and direction in what to do. :)
