Just to the outside people who don't drink. I'm only taking it from a standpoint from the college kids who like to drink to show off. I should've worded it clearer. I'm in college so I've seen situations where college dudes would drink to impress girls or drink to impress their friends and if you don't drink, you're a loser. You do understand where I'm coming from?

To have a temporary escape from a political climate that hates you, because our generation voted in teh current hate puppet in office. To deal with overwhelming stress form a deminished job market many of us have put ourselves in monsterous debt we put ourselves in to go to college. To socialize in a culture that has forgotten how to socialize normaly. To deal with a world that hates you for no good reason. To forget your problems because people prefer shouting and condeming those around them then reasoning with them.

Thankfully I don't drink, but I do have friends that drink for the reasons I listed. I can't stand the taste of most Alcohol. :P

This has also been my experience. I do not drink, but my friends who do tend to have reasons deeper than mere 'being an idiot to appease idiots'.

EDIT: Although, most of my friends are Democrats, so the 'hate-puppet' part doesn't apply. ;)

funny i started this thread as comic relief,sorda, and all have answered it seriously. i wanted to take it in a new direction but after much thought it would violate the spirit of this forum, though we would learn from the opposite pov.
