I hope this is the right forum to put this in...
Anyway, I need to ask for some Christian advice. I have a friend who is a month off from being 21, but doesn't have a high school diploma (his mom just stopped homeschooling him one day), doesn't have a job, and cannot even drive. He just stays in his house all day every day and doesn't talk to anyone (we haven't even spoken in a year). His parents are not even making an effort to help him. He's just stuck there, wasting his life. If he were under 18, it would be child abuse.
We live several states apart, but I'm weighing the option of driving up there and kidnapping him, in a sense (although I like the term "staging an intervention" better). He needs help. My mother could school him with my 17 yr old brother and my dad would give him a job. He could have a life and a future instead of being trapped until he eventually kills himself (he has been suicidal in the past).
Really, what are some objective opinions on this? We always considered ourselves as close as twins, so I can't stand the thought of him being this way. But am I really being realistic?
