Women's issues are a passionate part of my little ministry. You cannot live my life without developing a deep love, respect and fascination with women. This is a poem I was inspired to write in that vein.
Her Song
Last at the cross and first at the tomb
Brave, devoted and dearly loved
His sisters and mothers had done God's will
Covered their heads
Shaking with dread
As their Deliverer died
Brave and courageous, she brought Him forth
God would nurse at His mother's breast
She taught Him and sought Him with all her heart
Mother and Son
Neither would run
So she watched as He died on a cross
Under the thumb of corrupted men
Many long years, degraded and jeered
But at the will of the God who has loved them so
His daughters were born
Virtue adorned
Serving his blessed Son
Turning the pages of history
Seeking no glory, getting it done
Every breath bought with agony
Heroes and kings
All living things
Began in a blessed womb
Still sisters are seeking elusive peace
Angry and scared and exhausted
Yet the answer is nearer than they can know
The Man who has called
Longs for them all
To find the peace He brings
Brothers and sisters, we slaves of God
Servants and friends everlasting
Let us no longer keep Him a secret
Shout out his name
Worthy of fame
So all His children may hear it
