Here’s How the New Christian Left Is Twisting the Gospel

It would be important if Christians would discern what is being spoken in the name of Christianity.

Remember some years earlier, when Todd Bentley was reigning the roost in Lakeland? So many of the leadership in the Christian community rushed to anoint him, to proclaim the many works Bentley was doing. Remember the smears that they tried to spread on those Christians who saw Bentley for what he was?

Some voices were silenced because of the harsh treatment at the hands of some of the Christian community. Those voices tried to give gentle correction to those who were straying.

But just as in the secular world, the Christian left is using every tool to denigrate what Scripture says and to re-design what our Lord tells us to do.
 
Not sure what I read, but folks have always gone to churhes that suited their life style. This is nothing new. It don't matter what you preach. If you went to a horrible church with bad doctrines and straighted the doctrine out and preached truth, the members there would leave, and members that wanted to do the will of God will soon take their place.

Then a new bad church with the old bad members would form.
 
I have a feeling that if those people were offered the choice to either convert to outright satanism or die, most of them would be shouting "hail s.....".

i am not just quoting charisma magazine . i quoted a article i dont follow just any old doctrine or get excited about certain type postings . if it catches my eye and i read it and i agree with it .that's what i agree on. if their testimony is not according to the word there is no light in them. the loosey goosey feel good Gospel has been around for some time. problem is its increasing more and more every day.a quote from a pastor i sent this to via email { so true,, the church of today is driven by many things, but the Holy Spirit is not one of them. People today do not want commitment, only to be part of group or go when it is convenient, slip in slip out of church. Feel good religion. the list just goes on and on.} i agree with him %100 a former pastor of over 40 years in the ministry once said preaching or articles is like eating chicken eat the meat and throw the bones away. its also been said the way the ATF knows what counterfeit money looks like .they study the real thing every day. in layman's terms today that could be used as discernment . i appreciate your voice of concern .i really dont know much about them. i just happened to read the article :thumbsup:readbible
 
while I don't disagree with that article per se. I don't see the point of trying to convert America via politics. that movement called the religious right isn't recent. I understand why but really its not the governments job. we are merely picking what sin we tolerate. look up what god says about idolatry and yet we don't push for the change of the first amendment. im for challenging the opposing views and the logical conclusion if our is superior the opposing view will forsake that and come to our side and society will change.

oh we have them but I have libertarian leanings. I just don't think banning abortion is bad, I agree with that but the reality is that the idea of government defining marriage is a double edged sword. so we need the government to tell us whom to marry? my state would force me to stay married for one year to my wife if I just moved out and was legally separated. ok is that not something I don't want? I understand the why that is but its my decision and right to stay or not. you cant legally mandate love. yet I know that it goes south as well and the other way.

Sign me up as supporting the Old School Gospel too.
I am totally in that theological camp and fully intend to stay
in that camp until I croak aka "crossing the Jordon." /grin

Re the excellent OP: I would contribute this verse:
"They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us.
For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained
with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged
to us." I John 2:19
John was referring to the false teachers of his time, people
who were originally associated with the apostles, but now
had turned away from the truth. (John says 7 verses later:
" I am writing these things to you about those who are
trying to lead you astray." I John 2:26)
The same thing is happening today as noted in the article
in the OP and as noted in I John 2:19 (The point is that
everybody claiming to be a Christian is not a Christian.)

The good news: I am confident that the Lord Christ will not
lose any of His "sheep" and His "wheat" amidst all this 21st
century spiritual befuddlement, though some true Christians
dabbling around in sin may suffer some serious consequences.
(I pray for Mercy and Grace for 'em)

While reading this article one thing stood out... the idea that this is a new problem brought on in the younger generations and this is the end of the church! This simply isn't true. This has been an issue hotly debated for hundreds of years, probably thousands, maybe from the beginning of the church itself! The only thing different is the specific situations it's being applied to now, of which the article really mentions very few. And the few that are mentioned simply aren't being taught the way they are describing it in all churches by any means.

not sure where you got that at . if a person is a born again child of God. the will sound the alarm Ezekiel chapter 3 and chapter 33 as watch man we are to sound the trumpet of warning. lukewarm liberal religion will only get a person to a one way ticket to the lack of fire

nope its not the end of the Church there will always be a remnant Jesus said up on this rock he will build his Church and the gates of hell will not prevail. we the Church just need to plant the seeds and pray they fall on good ground . God gives the increase

Yeah, I agree completely. I was just pointing out that this is what some people have been telling us for a long time now. Every time something new comes along, "That's it, this is the end of the church!" You're right, this simply isn't true. We are told the gates of hell itself will not end the church! If some people want to go off and say gay marriage is ok with God, or whatever the topic of the day happens to be OK, fine. Let them do as they please. I'll just read God's word and go by what IT says. But this has been going on since long before any of us were even alive and this certainly isn't anything new with the younger generation and certainly isn't unique to them.

the way i look at just another sign of the time.. i have no idea how the end will turn out ..{I'll just read God's word and go by what IT says} thats the key jesus said occupy till i come. i believe in sounding the trumpet not just make a noise in the end God will have the final say regardless of what end time ministries has to say..
