Hey Y'all!
I'm Rachel and I'm 16, as of 2 months ago. I'm in 11th grade. I'm homeschooled, which can be such a bore sometimes. My favorite sport is volleyball. I have tried other sports like softball, and basketball....but I suck at them. But shhh don't tell anyone, lol. I don't play any instruments, altho I would love to play the piano. I love to sing, dance, and READ!. So ye...there's more to tell....but look at the time I have to go.

God bless
Rach

No, this is my 3rd yr being homeschooled. Before that I went to a christian school where my mom works. For 1st grade I went to public.... I hated it.
Did you like being homeschooled?

BY the way, where abouts in Michigan do you live? I live about 20 miles north of Detroit.

right now, i'm attending MSU in east lansing. it's my first year here, but i went to a community college in Traverse City for a couple of years prior.

i really enjoyed homeschooling, as i got to read a lot (and i mean a lot) of books in my own time, but it also was kind of lonely, as i'm an only child. i led sort of a cloistered existence. getting back into school with lots of other people was really refreshing for me.

ach, i totally forgot to welcome you to the forum in my first post- i apologize.

also, welcome to the forum!

thx

I think lansing is like 2 hours away from me.

Yea I totally know what you mean by lonely. I do have a sister but she's either sleeping, at work, or at school. It's a good thing that i like to read so much. Define alot? Because I like to read alot... but we might not be talking about the same alot, lol. I read a book a day, sometimes two.
cloistered existence? *looks up word in dictionary* ahh.. ok.
My mom is a teacher, so every Monday and Tuesday I'm around kids...so I'm not totally deprived of friendship, lol.

Do you like college better than highschool?

let's see... my parents own a used bookstore, so i had a never-ending supply of material. my pace pretty much matched your own. i had a few close friends, but when they're in school seven or eight good hours of the day, you just don't see them as often as you'd like. it was a little ungood in that respect, but the homeschool experience was rewarding, overall.

i enjoyed my community college more than highschool, yes. i'm still in transition shock from going to MSU, though, but i'm sure i'll warm up to it. i'm a very independant-minded person, so each movement towards not being in thrall to a school system or whatever was more and more refreshing.

Your parents owned a bookstore?!?! That's awesome! lucky duck... I usually read all my books and bored for days on end, since no one will take me to the library, lol.
Yes homeschooling does have it's benefits, but it also has drawbacks.

I'm kind of scared when I think of going to college in less than 2 yrs. AHH!
But I am hoping to be able to stay at home and go to a community college.
I really need to learn to step out of my comfort zone.

community college was great. i had no idea what i wanted to do with my life going in. i wasn't really interested in much, and i was pretty apathetic. it was useful for showing me all the possibilities out there.

i can't reccomend a community college enough, if career/whatever direction is a problem.

Then I guess Community college is the place for me.

All I know is that I like to help people. Like mybe work at a shelter or something, go oversees mybe and help out a missionary family w/ what they do. But yea.. I have no clue!

definitely travel, if you can. that's one of the best educations you can get. fun, too.

That's were working on getting out of my comfort zone comes in.

understandable. nothing wrong with taking your time. i'm the kind of person that likes to just "rip the bandaid off", as it were, though.
