Hey

Hey my name is Ana. I love Skillet, Fireflight, and Flyleaf. John Cooper saved my life. I'm new (obviously). Well, I have a question. Does going to church make you a Christian? I've said the prayer many times but I don't know where I'd go if I died now. I think heaven. In the past I may have said the prayer for the wrong reason. I don't know. I think I'm saved. I don't know.

Hi, Ana ... welcome to CFnet :wave Hope you enjoy your time with us.

The only way to becoming a Christian is when you accept our Lord Jesus as your personal savior as John 3:16 tells us.

Attending church is important in your Christian walk for the fellowship with other Christians as well as the continued learning of what Scripture says. It's important to read & study your Bible.

Why do you not think you are saved?

Provided you are sincere in your desire to become a Christian, all you have to do is open your heart and pray that our Lord welcomes you into His arms as His. Repent of any misdeed of the past, and pray from the heart for forgiveness. Accept Jesus, as John 3:16 states: "“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (NASB) Acknowledge you are a sinner, as we all are, and know in your heart that our Lord God hears us, He hears our prayers, and that there is nothing He can't do, in His time, according to His will.

Then be prepared to begin growing in your relationship with our Lord God. If you don't have a Bible of your own, you can read & study the Bible online. Biblegateway.com is an excellent source for the Bible, with the option to read/study from a variety of Bibles: King James, New American Standard Bible, etc. That site also has links to help with your study of Scripture.

Blessings, Mementomori ... and my prayers are with you!

Hi Ana, and welcome to cf.net. There are several threads about Christian rock around here, so I think you'll fit right in.

I really can't add anything to what AirDancer said about your situation. I can only to say to keep reading your Bible, keep in prayer to the Lord and cast all your cares upon him, and yes, do find a good Bible-based church to call home where you can get some encouragement :)

Hey Ana!! :wave
