This is not a which is more important thing, but rather which one do you feel called to, and how do you know? The truth is that all who claim Christ are called to missions somewhere.

For me I'd say home. I am not edumacated enough to teach people overseas.

Education isn't as big a deal as you might think. Think of home many countries are less advanced then the states. Anyone can even help move the country along is useful for both ministry and fellowship.

Well yeah, but if i ever went abroad i would want my knowledge on the subject increased though just so i can do my job better.

All the knowledge you need as far as ministering to anybody is in knowing the word of God through the filter of the Holy Spirit- and in walking by the Spirit. It is God who calls and He doesn't require college. The disciples learned how to be "fishers of men" by sitting at Jesus' feet.

But.. if you need to learn a foreign language then thats another story!

My mission field is right here at home on USA soil- As Jesus leads.

Good topic, Tim!

Another thing about education is that God will educate us as we need it. We must be the ones open to whatever teaching he gives us. I personally have always felt called to the USA. However, I'm beginning to see that I'm more willing to go wherever He sends me, because that is more true to how he is equipping me.

I agree, you need to be educated enough to know the scriptures, but the most important thing is being called and being mature enough in your walk. I'm not saying that education is not important, but we shouldn't let it stand in our way. Alot of mission boards will not send missionaries unless they complete certain degree requirements, how much weight should education have in relation to a person's willingness and desire to GO?
