I've homeschooled all my life and though I used to want to go to public school, I'd probably hate it at this point. I do take several classes from an online Christian school, however. http://www.pottersschool.org

Any of you have any interesting stories or annoying questions that you get asked?

Q. "So like your mom teaches you at home?"
A. "Yeah, so like you go to a school building and people teach you there?"


Q. "Well, do you have any friends"
A. "Almost too many"

Q. "do you ever socalize?"
A. "That seems like all we ever do"

Q. "So you are really smart right?"
A. "Of course...."

I work at the Church answering the door and phone for the priests and brothers so I basically get paid to do schoolwork and stuffign the bulletins, this is a typicall work day (taken from freshman year).

Brother 1: walking through "Plato, wow."
Nod and smile

Brother 2: walking through "Plato, cool"
nod and smile

Brother 3: walking through "plato, that is awesome"

Brother 4: "Plato, so were do you go to college?"
me: "I am a freshman in highschool."
Brother 4: "Oh" walks away

I definitely hear the socialization question a lot. People seem to think homeschoolers live in caves...We definitely do not. My family just had forty some kids here today from our co-op, we're anything but unsocialized!

Socilization is definatly not an issue. I know people who practicaly live at each others houses.

I'm home schooled. Socialization is kind of an issue for me but that's because I'm shy.

I was homeschooled from 4th-8th grade but now I'm back in a public school environment. It's alright, but I still kinda miss homeschool.

ASD100, I am kind of shy too but I have a job that kind of requires me to be outgoing so that really helped but I am definatly an intravert. I have also met some people that have helped my come out of my box, I still like my box. I guess I am saying that you will meet people and have situations that can help you out of the shyness if you feel it is a real issue.

I homeschooled for one year. It was a good experience to have, I think, but I wouldn't do it again. I didn't learn enough and I got very behind in maths. This little duck prefers school life! :P

hehe i am homeschooled the last 2 months of school every year coz i get suspended until further notice.. this has happened to me 3 years in a row now.. guess its a curse
