I --do-- think that Jesus changes people, in big ways. I'm just wondering....from your observations...how are people who have come to know Christ different from the rest of the world? I don't necessarily mean "better" or anything like that, just...what, if anything, makes Christians and their/our subculture distinctive?

Christians have the Scripture for an understanding of right and wrong.. we are not left to our own human selfish ways ... We have a 'parent' so to speak that gives us boundaries... in life and death.. We have a history ( again the Scriptures) to draw from..

We eat a LOT more barbecued pork than Muslims or Jews.

We are sorry for the things we do wrong. And growing with each failure, while the world is sinking deeper and deeper into their wrong doing.

I would say Jesus. For those of us who have placed our faith in him and earnestly follow him with the desire to be like him then we should be distinctive.

John 13:34-35 (New Living Translation (NLT)

34 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.

35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”"

Jesus also said

Mark 12:30-31

30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’

31 The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”"

And in Galatians we read

Galatians 5:14

For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbour as yourself.”"
