Because we are sinners.
You have used two words with different meanings.
Killing and slaughter.
We are not, as individuals, permitted to ' just ' kill another person, we are allowed to defend our selves from attack.
If our government requires it we can kill in defending other people or to defend our country.
Slaughter is what happens to animals as they enter our food supply system.
If used in contection with killing people it implies merciless and brutal killing of one or many people.
So can you tell us what you mean?
