How Can You Know God Is In Control ?

Look at His judgments.This is God's way of telling that He is in control. "God is known by the judgments he executes"Psalm;9:16
"His judgments are in all the earth."Psalm;105
He will not let men prevail because he always have a tendency to show himself strong,declaring that he is in charge.Especially for those who wait for his judgments' He answers By awesome deeds in righteousness.'By His judgments God teaches the world what is right."When Your judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness"Isaiah;26:9

On the flipside, we know God is in control when He says:

Psa 46:10a Be still, and know that I am God:...

I know He is in control when things work according to His purpose.

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

I don't just dwell on His wrath and judgement. He is much bigger than that.
