[__ Science __ ] How Could Geology Possibly Affect Spiritual Truth?

There is no conflict between God's physical creation and His spiritual truths. But there are many, many people who have denied His physical creation to maintain their own interpretations of His spiritual truths.

2 Peter 3:3–6 Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished.

The word that St. Peter used, the koine Greek κόσμος (kosmos) had a very specific meaning in New Testament times...

Luke 2:1 And it came to pass, that in those days there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that the whole world should be enrolled.

Same word, "kosmos." Did Caesar order a census of China, Japan, the East Indies, and the Americas? No, of course he didn't. Because that's not what "kosmos" meant at the time. It meant the Hellenistic world, essentially the Roman Empire.

Today, the scoffers, following their own sinful desires, ignore the actual meaning of the word as Peter and Luke used it, and insert their own meanings to it.

Lemme guess, they are the athiests trying to conflate "science" with "our GUESSES about supposedly distant HISTORY".
