So, I'm trying to read the Bible start to finish. I'm in Leviticus at the moment and I'm just wondering how these priests were able to remember even half of these laws. For example just read Leviticus 13.

Idk,.. I'm trying to figure out how we both just happen to be in the exact same chapter of the Bible right now. :lol

the priests studied God's words their whole life like a dr or lawyer studies for 7 years of their life before they start practising medicine or law - and they had teachers/instructors just as lawyers and drs do

law and medicine are way more complicated imo

I would think they would have learned them from their very early youth growing up possibly reciting them with their father. Kinda like learning the lyrics of a song. You would of had to have a good memory to know all 613 laws.

My guess is that, from their youth up, besides what they had studied, and how God must have dealt with their memory.

Sometimes I think it has to do with what we like or feel is important. Example: My husband loves cars and technology. He likes to retain the information on what he is interested in. That is probably one reason why they could remember
Mine is military weaponry. I used to have books upon books upon books of naval ships, armored vehicles, warplanes, infantry weapons,,,,etc

I'm trying to figure out how the government expects me to remember like 200,000 laws to be a law abiding citizen. I can't keep up. I'm not doing to bad, I haven't had an infringment or been to court for like 20 years.

613 laws?, they had it easy.

off topic cops and the military have books of the codes and regs passed. some are common and they memorize those. others are based on a complaint and research . umcj has about 150 articles, of course it covers common laws and traffic laws irc aren't listed in that but are enforced from state laws.
