Listening to the reports of the fighting in Syria, my heart goes out the children and mothers who are caught between the crossfire. Only last night I was thinking about pregnant mothers who might be on their way to give birth and just wont be able to get to the hospital.
I realise that unless we have experienced unrest when we have to dodge bullets and flee for our lives, we cannot really comprehend what these people are going through. Schools which should be places where children should be receiving their education, are being used as hospitals. The fear and trauma of these children is unbearable. Many have sought refuge in other countries. The emotional distress of these children and parents will cause us to weep. Living in tents, not being able to go to school, mothers who have lost husbands who have gone to join the rebels, some have died. Mothers have such a burden to bear
Syria's ancient names was Aram. Damascus the capital is mentioned 67 times in the bible. Only God knows what his plans are for Syria as it relates to bible prophecy.
Each day I thank God for his mercies.
Prayer for this nation is in order.
