That is tough. Sometimes I vote for someone. Sometimes I vote against someone. In this election, I am voting against Bush. So as long as the #2 candidate is not as bad as Bush, I will vote for them. However, if the two top candidates appear about equal or it seems a clear win for one of them, I vote or the candidate I like the best.

I haven't voted in probably the last 12 or 14 years. There just seems to be no reason. The bureaucracy is so big, so out of control, I honestly do not see it turning around in my life time. When someone gets into office, it seems as though they are not much different than the person who left.

On the person and circumstances of course... I'll vote for Bush this year because I refuse to support abortion - in essence what a vote for Kerry would be. And because Tennessee could possibly be a closer race than expected.

Straight ticket Republican for everything above the local level. Most of the time it is Republican on the local level as well, but once in a great while I will vote a Dem.

I don't know if I will even vote. It's all pretty depressing really. I hardly know which candidate is the lesser of two evils anymore. lol. Perhaps I'll just vote for Bush, though the Republican party is just about as crazy about big government as the democrats nowadays. I haven't read up on the Libertarian candidate yet, so that's a possibility, except I believe he supports gay marriage. *cringe* Yep, I probably won't vote.

I thought about going Libertarian a couple of times. I like a lot of their ideas. However, I like a bigger government than they would have. I want the government to support stuff that people want but private coroprations would not likely invest in. Stuff like parks and research into stuff that doesn't get a profit in 10 years or less. I also think that most industries need regulating to some extent. Industry does what is best for them and not for anyone else (that you can count on). So there needs to be a powerful agent that looks after the citizens with the ability to close down businesses.

Mostly I just want civil liberties and prosperity. So I tend to favor candidates over parties. However, the 2000 election soured me a lot about that idea. For some reason compassionate conservative seems neither compassionate nor conservative.

I am not registered for either political platform. I vote for whoever is the best candidate who will represent my needs and interests. Usually that means voting for a Democrat.

I usually vote Republican. But like many moderate Reps, I lean libertarian. I think some of the social stances of the party are becoming increasing divisive and they alienate Mods like me.

On this election I am still wide open (one of the 8% undecided, I guess). I'll likely wait until after the debates before I make up my mind.

Either way, I have a feeling we are in for a few more "forgettable" Presidents much like the country went through at the end of the 1800's.

Cleveland, Arthur, Harrison, Hayes (the parallels to 2000 election on this guy is amazing)

Bush, Clinton, Kerry, G.W. Bush

And history repeats itself again.....it took Teddy to get us out of that rut, and I think it will be a few more elections until we get one again. My guess, it will be a woman.
