Ok, I saw there was a discussion on what time is with thoughts deep enough to make even Stephen Hawking's wheels on his chair spin at 1000rpm. This time this thread is more on geometric aspect and "down to earth" --- being the "Gnomonist" it's going to be about sundials! This is one hobby of mine where over the years I made a few and even more so love to calculate them. But one does not have to use calculations to delineate from a master dial called an "Equatorial" sundial.
