How often do you clean your house?

When I can no longer make my way to the bathroom without tripping.

Actually, I'm pretty anal about my organization and cleanliness. People don't admire that about me. :D

When the children were still living at home it was every day, all day....
After they left , when the house needed cleaning.
As I aged, only when I could see the dirt ! :shrug

Now it has to come up to me and tell me ........ :)

I have always like a place for every thing and every thing in its place.
But these days, its not as easy.

The house is straightened when we wake up, but we usually do the sweeping, mopping, dusting etc. when it's in this condition, then we have to keep straightening all day long, after each meal, after we school all day, etc., because otherwise the books would overrun us. Saturday and Sunday are the exceptions. So, daily for five days, and then we usually do special projects on the weekend.

When I was single, I cleaned my apartment on Saturday mornings and then went to do my laundry...so easy.

Define "clean" please. :D[/quote:3uq9e4h3]

Spic and span with the dust pan.

the toilet gets it every day with bleach. that 'thing' known as laundry - almost every day.

Well, is the litter box still a mess. :lol

haha well i'm usually pretty OCD about cleaning but having a one year old that's very messy doesn't help :lol

i try to vaccum my downstairs every other day and upstairs alternating days.. i sweep every other day and do bathrooms and bedding once a week. just keeping everything picked up in general and doing dishes and everything is a daily chore.

this is when it actually gets cleaned lol

I do a little each day....sweeping one day....washing clothes another, dusting sometimes....I find if I do a little often then it never builds up to a big mess. I hate mess, I wash dishes after meals and iron about once a week.....and I still find I have a lot of time for relaxing....

Cleaning rooms in my house is a battle of Biblical proportions.

I am a stay at home Dad, so basically it is my duty to maintain some semblance of cleanliness in the house. I found that when I cleaned a room, the kids where making a mess in another room. When I finished cleaning the other room, I would discover that the kids had gone to the clean room (because it was clean) and started messing it up again.

I think we just have too much stuff. Now my kids are young and I am still teaching them the virtues of living in a clean environment, but the worst offender is my wife.

Who says God does not have a sense of humor.

Same story here, Michael. Then to the general messiness of the clutter, one has to add a dog, a guinea pig, a rat, a boa constrictor and 5 cats to the mix.

I clean house every single day...and still don't have a really clean house.

But, my mom told me something recently...When I was growing up, we had the same general chaos with kids, animals and clutter all around. After the kids grew up and moved out and the animals died, mom and dad "downsized" she finally had a clean house with just two cats. Then dad died and mom downsized again and now it's just her in a little apartment that is spic and span clean. And boy, how she misses the days of chaotic clutter, kids running around, animals wandering here and there, wafting fur all over the place and a messy house full of life and fun. Makes me not mind the mess so much.
