I was watching a documentary this evening on the death of Phil Hartman, a popular comedian and TV star back in the 1990s who was shot to death by his wife, who then committed suicide because along with being mentally unbalanced she had just snorted cocaine, had been on psych drugs and was drinking. Hartman was not Christian and I understand that, but he brought a lot of laughter to a lot of people's lives, so it was a shock to the nation.
Have you ever thought about what the world would be without you? I don't mean just the person you are now, but the person you may become, and all the Lord could make you. I almost suicided when I was younger. I had given my life to Christ, but then I got my heart broken and thought maybe I should just end it all. It would have been easy because I was standing on the precipice, and in a few moments I would have been gone.
But that was 40 years ago. I gave my life more fully to Christ instead and never looked back. But when I watch stories like this, I think back to just what a terrible waste of a life it might have been. I feel like my life has value to the Lord and to others today, and all that would have been thrown away in a foolish instant.
Ever thought about what the world would be without you?
Take a moment to reflect on how precious a life can be. Your life.

Blessings in Christ,
Hidden In Him
