Bible Study How Proverbs contrasts the righteous & the wicked

As I just promised in my last post..

Now to start a Bible study thread on the many contrasts in Proverbs...

inc the diligent & the slothful

Taster: 'all that is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing'

No: Proverbs doesn't say those words - but will you take the time to read & study the wisdom of God in this mega-mad days that Jesus prohesied as being like children in a playground shouting, 'we piped & you didn't dance'

I conducted an experiment on Wed: I set up genre threads @ book discussions forum..

& a 'winter-warmer idea 4 ya' @ TV/movies forum..

http://www.christianforums.net/viewtopi ... highlight=

suggesting setting up similar genre threads there..

in both cases, encouraging folk to cheer up the many lonely folk who come on 'Net forums for company & stimulation - as there are many more folk who live alone that there are who live in families

None of the 64 posts since my 20 of Wed did either

I'm thankful that my @ 30 years of self-employment taught me many principles of motivation, initiative & inspiration

Praise God that 'the Lord puts the desolate into families'

& realise that we are His hands & feet, etc - many have said that sites like this are a form of 'Emerging Church' - so let's all 'no longer just look to your own interests, but care for your brothers & sisters in the Lord'

& invite all who don't yet know Him & the fellowship of His Body, the Church, to come to 'the Prince of Peace' & know the 'peace that passes understanding' -
to come to the Joy Giver & know fullness of joy' -
to come to the Life Maker & find 'abundant life..in all its fullness' -
to come to the God who 'is love' & find 'love beyond measure'

Many folk out there - on the 'Net in general - are crying inside, desparate for anything to take their minds of their troubles, yes?

Many folk out there in this lil' ol' global village drink/drug 'emselves stupid to try & forget their problems for a while

This ex-pro mimic will now slip into Tony Blair mode..

2 things I would say to you...

1 - The only way to beat your problems & troubles is to face them squarely in the strength that only Christ can give

2 - If you learn to 'lift your eyes to..from where your help comes: your help comes from the Lord, who made the Earth & the heavens', you can reach out to bless others, & as you do, God honours you with blessings you can't contain'

If only TB thought like that!

Why not email him - & other MPs - @ http://www.parliament.uk

God wants to bless us more than we want to be blest

He rewards persistent determination - as I hinted in 'Mining Minor Prophets'

".....he that does righteousness is righteous" -- 1 Jn 3:7

Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame - 1Cor. 15:34, NKJV.

Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God--I say this to your shame - 1Cor. 15:34, NIV.

What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "Do not covet." - Romans 7:7

also, ROMANS 13:8-10
