I hadn't realised, when I began a thread about the touring musical - see http://www.LuvEsther.com to book that 'West-End quality show' for your town -that Purim was so soon

It celebrates the heroism of Esther, who risked her life considerably by approaching a cruel Assyrian king uninvited, to expose the evil plot of villainous Haman to annihilate Jews throughout the Assyrian Empire

The famous phrases 'hung on his own gallows/hoist with his own petard' are @ Haman's rough justice reward for his evil scheme

Both the short (4 chapters) Bible book & the musical seek to encourage all God's people to be an Esther for those around them, whataver situation may arise

Timely Word 4 Today from http://www.arcamax.com here:-

Today's Scripture

Taste and see... The Fear of the Lord is Good!

And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel. A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you,

Malachi 1:5,6 KJV

and to those that remember
his commandments to do them.

This poor man called, and the LORD heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.

The angel of the LORD encamps
around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.

Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

Psalm 34:6-8 NIV

If you haven't been to a synagogue before, do check the 'Places of Worship' section at http://www.yell.com

The celebrations are 1 of the most joyous Jewish feasts of the year!

For Preston:-

http://www.yell.com/ucs/UcsSearchAction ... &x=37&y=16

& a great chance for Christians to acknowledge our undying gratitude that our Saviour & the writers of all the Bible books - all the apostles & prophets, etc - were Jews

I see the next email in my inbox is @ 'a short film in the spirit of Esther'
Right back with details...

Meanwhile, how are YOU celebrating Purim?

Have you ever been to a Feast of Purim celebration?

I go to Preston via Southport, Tues & Wed & I know that there are many Jews in both, & have long been praying that Messianic Assemblies will be established in those towns & in Liverpool, as 'The World In One City' & as 'EU Capital of Culture 2008' - see http://www.Liverpool08.com

I know that nearby Manchester is the only UK city outside London to have more than 1 Messianic Assembly so far - it has 2 & London has 4

How's the scene Jewish cultural scene where you live?

Google Christian e-cards & get your friends to make friends/strengthen friendship with the local Jews wherever you are @ this joyous time!

Back with film details..

Circular email from http://www.jpost.com - online Jerusalem Post:-

What if these famous people had Jewish Mothers?
Aish.com's new 1 minute movie.
