How should worship take place in Church?

How should worship take place in Church? Should they sing traditional hymns? Should tambourines tbe the only instrument? Should they have worship music that is contemporary? Should the worship music entertain us? What is Biblical?

Worship in a church should be to praise God. This can be through Bible readings, music, prayer, sermons etc, communion etc.

In terms of hymns Vs contemporary music - the music style depends on the congregation - if they are older people then they would probably prefer an organ and a hymn book. But a congregation of younger people might prefer the more modern music, like Chris Tomlin etc. In terms of music worship - the lyrics are what matter.

It might be helpful for us to praise Him if we enjoy doing so, but the primary 'goal' should be on God.

That's my :twocents

It shouldn't. Worshipping in church goes against everything that Jesus taught.

Please explain using scriptures.

The basic nutshell of worship is encapsulated in Acts 2:42:
"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

As early as the second century we have the witness of St. Justin Martyr for the basic lines of the order of the worship. They have stayed the same until our own day for all the great liturgical families. St. Justin wrote to the pagan emperor Antoninus Pius around the year 155, explaining what Christians did:

"On the day we call the day of the sun, all who dwell in the city or country gather in the same place.
The memoirs of the apostles and the writings of the prophets are read, as much as time permits.

When the reader has finished, he who presides over those gathered admonishes and challenges them to imitate these beautiful things.

Then we all rise together and offer prayers* for ourselves . . .and for all others, wherever they may be, so that we may be found righteous by our life and actions, and faithful to the commandments, so as to obtain eternal salvation.

When the prayers are concluded we exchange the kiss. Then someone brings bread and a cup of water and wine mixed together to him who presides over the brethren. He takes them and offers praise and glory to the Father of the universe, through the name of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and for a considerable time he gives thanks that we have been judged worthy of these gifts.

When he has concluded the prayers and thanksgivings, all present give voice to an acclamation by saying: 'Amen.'

When he who presides has given thanks and the people have responded, those whom we call deacons give to those present the "eucharisted" bread, wine and water and take them to those who are absent
" (St. Justin, Apol. 1, 65-67).

There is not an absolute, immutable form wherein we ought to worship.

Don't use that which "cut stones or steps" are symbols.

Jn 4:23,24 "But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth."

So NT worship is to be done in spirit and in truth. What is truth? "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth," Jn 17:17. So God's word, the bible is truth and it sets the standard that worshippers are to go by, therefore man does not to get to set his own standards even though he tries. God's word instructs the NT church to sing, so music would be a capella singing. The purpose of singing is to teach and admonish so the lyrics must conform to biblical teachings, conform to "truth" or else one is singing false teachings.
