High pressure shower head for me, and once in awhile hydrogen peroxide. I just squirt that powerful jet into my ears. It's a good shower head. It concentrates water so much it stings a little.
While I agree that we need some ear wax, I think there's cases where it can build up, especially if a person has drainage problems and it gets to the point their hearing is affected. I think people would get fewer colds and feel better overall if the doctor just cleaned their ears. but.... I guess if there's no clogged ears, there would be fewer colds and fewer prescriptions of antibiotics. And there would also be fewer people blaming the common guy for "taking too many antibiotics" when all they may need is to clean the ears out, but again, doctors have this aversion to it for some reason.
I was about as clogged as anyone, and while I could fight colds myself, I found I got my share of sinus trouble and head colds (not to mention my hearing was going bad) until the doctor cleaned them out professionally. Once clean, I could keep them clean myself, and nowhere near the nasal problems. It's been about 6 years now and still no problems. That tells me the wax was imbedded in there for maybe 20, 30 , 40 or more years. That's not normal.
